Mystic Advisor

Before I waste salvge crafting one of these for my arcane-themed SG base, I'd like the stats on it - how much control does it add, how much energy does it drain, and ho wmuch does it cost? Does it measure up to Bookcases favorably on the prestige-control scale?

Does anyone know of any kind of database where you can see the stats for all these craftable objects? Being unable to assemble an object if you discover it sucks isn't too clever...

Heh, yeah. Looking at those salvage tables when your prestige is in short supply is pretty scary. Thinking about buying that tiny, cheap-looking thing? It'll only end up costing a few mil :P
(and no, that wasnt actual stats on the advisor)

This might help. It has prices and stats for things. Haven't used it in ages though.

A word of advice here, I dont think salvage-crafted control items are very useful until your base begins to run out of energy. The salvage items have better energy->control ratio and can be useful in this aspect, but produce less control than the buyable basic things (I dont know what the arcane equivalent of database is).

So if you dont have energy problems yet, just buy the basic control room add-ons.

Of course, if you want just visuals its different, I like the death star projection of the holo display myself

Good call, since it doesn't seem to exist anymore...

And yeah, I mainly want the cool visuals of the Mystic Advisor - but not if the Prestige-Control ratio is too poor. As it is, the Bookcase provides 50 control for aproximately 100.000 Prestige... as long as the Mystic Advisor isn't too far below that, I'd buy it.

The tech variant is the Holodisplay:
Price: 97,000
Energy consumed: 15
Controle Produced: 25

Where as the database:
Price 106,000
Energy consumed: 100
Control produced: 50

NOT exactly favorable... I think I'll save the Mystic Advisor for some fictional future where we've got 'plenty' of Prestige. Unfortunately, with current prices, there just isn't room for anything less than the most optimal configuration...

Okay, I've gotten an Advanced Forge - new Control Auxilliary available, the 'Scrying Painting'. Sounds cool, but once again I'd like to know the stats before I waste salvage on making something that's inherently inferior to the default bookcases...

Anybody know the stats for this, or the techie counterpart?

I'll have a look in the morning... got salvage comming out of my nostrils... (SG gives me all the salvage...)

So... even less control, a bit cheaper though...
And a better energy-control ratio

It's still the Prestige-to-Control ratio that worries me most, and in that department, the database/bookcase still seems to reign supreme. On the other hand, I'm also running out of room for attachments in the control-room... if there is a Craftable Control-attachment that provides more than 50 Control, that might be useful...

Sigh... this is REALLY bugging me. Scrying Paintings, Magic Mirrors, Mystic Advisors, all of them are TOTALLY BLOODY COOL, and would make the control-room look AWESOME - but they're also expensive and inefficient, meaning that you'd have to sacrifice utility for appearance if you want 'em...

Okay. Big question. The Ley Tap is apparently and improved powersource - no idea what the Tech version is called. I can make it with the Advanced Forge. I just managed to gather the huge ammount of salvage necessary. I NEED to know the data before I waste it all...

Is it really better than the standard powersource? If so, how much? And how much does it cost?

ley tap I believe is the arcane version of turbine generator.

It costs 1.5 mil pres and provides 5000 energy I believe.

Ah, very nice. 5 times the energy-production of my old Power Crystal...

HOWEVER... I FORTUNATELY took the time to copy my character into the Test Server to check out the stats on the Ley Tap before constructing it. While I can't fault the stats (even though the price is still ridiculous), I discovered that the damn thing's TOO BIG to fit in the smallest-size power-room, which is of course exactly what I've got...

Upgrading to a bigger power-terminal would cost an additional 600.000 Prestige, and would push the capacity of the plot to the limits - not an option at the moment.

Well, at least it's THEORETICALLY useful. I'll keep the salvage handy for the future, when we can afford to upgrade to a bigger plot.

...yeah right.

Well you eventually have to - only so much you can spend your prestige on( theres not much else you can do with limited plot size). What we did was create our lovely powerful energy supply with the salvage and then it was just the case of saving up for a plot upgrade and room upgrade.
