Hey guys,

looks like I'm turning into the official "lagging behind StrikeForce Blitz team". :P

I'm going to be running the Silver Mantis SF this thursday, at 7PM GMT. I'm a member of the Violators SG, and we have everything required (you don't need to be one of our members either to enter our base) to start the SF.
The lvl range is 20-25, but ofcourse you can join if you're higher lvl as well (just wont get any xp! :P).

So if you're interested, leave a message here or send me a globaltell @Solar Flash or directly to my villain Fearless One.
I will gather the team at the Base Portal in Sharkhead Isle at 7PM GMT.

Hope to make this one as much fun as the Virgil Tarikoss SF! :-)

A little tip on this one. Make sure at least one member on your team has fly.

I won't spoil it but we got stuck on this the other night and a GM contacted us and told us how to finish it and when I asked him how you'd do it without fly, he replied 'with great difficulty'. I disagree with that as unless you're very lucky, it can be impossible without fly

At this time, I've got 3 seperate jetpacks ;-) (holiday pack, goldbricker pack and skyraider pack)
I'm starting to think it was a mistake to spend a power on a travelpower ;-)

*spoilers*

I must agree. This does seem impossible without fly. First of all the rig would be very hard to clear of raiders and turrets, but once Duray spawned we needed to retreat, and Duray disappeared. After a long search we found him in the southwest corner in the middle of the sky. You dont get there without fly (or possibly TP).

I might add that Duray was an awful foe. I mean, an AV that spawns 2 bosses every time you fight him really is over the top. There was 4 of us, which is the minimum for this SF, and it took us one and a half hours to defeat him, and many many deaths. Even tho I have never been so proud of a badge, one thing is for sure: I will NEVER do this SF again. The last mish is just not fun!

I can't remember if we all had holiday jetpacks when we did this mission, it definately took some serious time since there was some hideous lag on that last mission, although with SG you can get to the top of the rig and imagine tp could achieve the same. Duray was very quickly brought down to sea level by one person on our team taunting him, he then got a severe pummelling by the brutes and bots. Duray was easily the easiest to despatch of all the AV's I have faced so far, and I would be prepared to do it again in future with other toons or just to earn some more infamy/prestige.

Then you and I have very different experiences indeed. I have seen AVs drop to teams of 3-4 men in very little time, but Duray managed to keep standing for a LONG time. (and this was with 2 brutes pummeling him at full fury)
Also, if you have to run from the Duray the first time, he will move to a position I doubt you can reach with SJ. I don't think you got what I mean, because he won't be on top of the rig, he'll be quite far from it. Without flight or TP he might actually be impossible to reach.

Ofcourse, most AVs I faced, I faced in CoH with full SOs, and this guy I faced with only training enhancements. Since my teammates did have SOs tho, I cant imagine this causes such a big difference.
