Weave / SR query

Hello!

Anyone know if there’s any hard numbers posted for Weave, what it adds defence against and how it stacks with /SR defences?

I never seem to have any powers spare thanks to SR's balancing to think about powerpools

Dont! Med. Pool is a much better choice.

Weave is 3.25% defence against all damage types but Psi and Melee and Ranged positions. It may have AoE too, I'll have to check.

This means it stacks with SR fine. The real question is whether it is actually worthwhile, this gives you about 32% defence, rather than the 27ish you get with just the SR powers.

If you want more survivability, I've heard that Aid Self is good bet for a SR scrapper, you can get a 33% heal every 10 seconds depending on slotting, someone was raving about it a week or 2 ago.

The discussion about Aid Self is far older than that. It was a given choice for many AV Hunting builds before the Global Defense and Resistance Change/Nerf.

Either way, I think your main target in the Fighting Pool would be Tough, since any combination of Defense and Resistances is generally more efficient than One or the Other. Of course, if you do pick up Tough, Weave isn't a bad choice in the end either. Although it will give you two more toggles to handle.

The medicine pool is by far not a bad alternative either. With the new Defense changes coming in I7, I think it would be your best bet acctually.

With weave giving such a pathetic amount of defence, as an /SR scrapper aren't you almost better off sticking a fourth SO in each of your active toggles?

To answer myself apparently not. According to Sherk Silver's planner, sticking a fourth SO in your active toggles will net about 0.5 % defence increase, even less than weave!

It's highly amusing that combat jumping is about as effective as the 4th power in the fighting pool, while using a tiny fraction of the end

Yes but CJ provides imo protection.................. wait a minute, that's something else in its favour.

But you can get both... and stack them ... for a game breaking 9% def ( 3 slotted )* . Or you can get Hover and Maneuvers too for a whopping 16.8 def and the inability to move quickly and have very little endurance for anything else due to having used all 4 power pools!

* I did this on my tank, for tanks it is 10.6% def.

If you have CJ you could get SJ from that pool and move fairly quickly you know...................... but you would have no end

tough is "only" good against slash and lethal and requires alot of end slots really, weave requires alot of end slots and adds a small amount of defense.

aid self puts back damage taken no matter what the damage type is. With 2 recharge and quickness u will have it every 14 secs roughly. In even level mobs and 1 interrupt you have a good chance of pulling it off, in the arena you have good chance of pulling it off. When i7 comes all mobs upto +5 will be like even level mobs, problem then is how much damage they give when they hit you.

so tough (smash/lethal only) 6 slotted (3end,3res)plus weave (all def 4.33% base) 6 slotted.= total 12 slots

or stimulant 1 base slot and aid self 6 slotted 1 int 2 rec and 3 heal (puts back health every 14 secs). = total 7 slots and 33% health regen every 14secs

ive had fighting pool on my sr and now i got aid self. aid self is imo way way better

Before I6 my MA/SR scrapper had the Fighting pool, with Weave taking the place of the SR passives, and Boxing as a very good, very regular "filler" to supplement my MA chain. Now I have the SR passives instead, and make do without Boxing.

There's a post on the US boards recently about this, where Arcanaville (someone who's very good on the numbers for SR) says that the passives are a much better bet than Weave for SR these days.
