Dark/Sonic could be good if you wanted a team-based support build, with nice buffs, and the inherent debuffs (-acc) in Dark. Plus you could take Tenebrous Tenacles for a bit of control. I wouldn't go with Dark Blast if you want a really damaging set though, there have been a number of comments here about how the set really lacks some power.
If team-based and supporting isn't what your after, best place to start might be figuring out what sort of Corruptor you want (high damage? lots of buffs? debuffs? want to be able to heal? want some control?), post it, and then those of us who spend far too much time Corrupting will likely have any number of suggestions.
sonic/thermal is a really solid build too.... good team support and nice blast which reduce resistance.

Bit of help on the concept: Mrs. Badcrumble is/was Eddie Izzard's shadowy Scottish clarinet teacher, so Sonic is a must. As is mystery, a hint of threat, a hint of sexiness, and jam.

Well, the Sonic primary might actually make more sense in that case, as it has more obvious sound effects. There's a thread a little further down the forum about Sonic/Dark, which would be really nice, but you might suffer from a chronic lack of slots, given all the yummy, slot-eating powers the two sets have. Dark would fit the shadowy and mysterious bits though. 
Sonic/Dark would probably work decently in solo and teams, and would be good in both PvE and PvP I suspect. You could make it a more damage-based build, or more of a support build, depending on how you'd like to play it - the Sonic primary has a number of control powers (an AoE sleep, a disorient, and a cone knockback), as well as some nice blasts, giving you options on where to take it. The Dark secondary has a cone fear and a hold if you really like the control. The fear might work well for that "hint of threat."
Sadly, Corruptors are yet to get a Jam-based powerset.
