Should I give up on Energy Aura?
EA is a good set !
It just lacks a self heal , most brutes can jump into a mob , take some beating and use a heal when healt starts to drop , EA aura can do the same but needs insps...
EA weakeness in pve , is defence debuff mobs , longbow and cot , are the most common mobs in CoV , and both of them use defence debuffs attacks , EA gets 20% defence debbuf resist at lvl 40 , but that doesnt help a lot!
+2/+3 mobs are more dangerous for a defence set than a resist set , so EA is weaker than most brutes vs high lvl mobs!
The good thing about EA is that defence insp are actualy good , cold corruptor shields ,FF bubles, and dark miasme debuffs makes a EA brute almost impossible to be hit !
And theres Energy drain at lvl 28 , this fix the problem most brutes have , runing out of end to fast , but thats not problem for EA after lvl 28
Most brute sets have some weakeness , stone moves to slow , invul only has decent resist vs Smash/letal dmg , Fire and Dark Armor get knocked back all the time (they have no defence vs knockback ), EA has no heal .
EA isnt weak , if you need some advice on your build fell free to ask !

I can get a reasonable chain going with the occasional Brawl punch to fill in, but I am lacking in the defence department. It seemed like a good idea at the time as defences are irrelevant in the early game, but with Stamina coming at lvl 20 it'll be lvl 22 before I can get another defence power. Been getting pummelled by mobs with energy attacks just lately.
I've pretty much got the secondaries that I want unless you can suggest something useful, so all that's left to get is the few remaining powers in EM and all the defenses in EA. Any suggestions as to which should come first?
Hi, I have a lvl30 Energy/Energy Brute and to be honest think he's great, near impossible to stop when soloing even on higher reputation... Can easly take on mobs of upto 6 of +1s and have even beaten a +3 Boss by myself... Nerf soon I think
So keep at it the build is deffo worth it
Energy Aura will benefit to the changes to defence in issue 7, making it more effective against AVs and higher level mobs.
I really should do something about this signature.

I would trade some of those dmg DO's for a few end redux DO's but that all, you lose some dmg , but you will be able to keep a high fury bar for longer !
All you need now is power shild , and you will have all of the must have EA defences !
Energy cloak is nice to have , you get a lot less agro , and the staked defence is nice!
Aid self, is almost a must have in a EA brute ,get Aid self + nrg drain , and you will never have to stop betewn mobs !

That's not a bad idea, I might try that. I was holding out for Stamina at 20, but I am having end problems between fights.

Is Aid Self really that necessary? What power in that set do you take before it, Aid Other or Stimulant?
come i7 u will love energy aura especially later levels i can feel it especially if u get stimulant (dont slot) and aid self i just know it.

I was in the same boat as you, apart from my EM/EA was in the early 30's and was pretty much getting creamed, but then a lovely respec came my way and i made a few changes.
I think the 2 biggest changes i made was taking the medicine pool for Aid Self (3 Heals, 3 Intrupt...makes it pretty much instant, just suffers from a long animation in my mind), and Energy Cloak...that plus the 3 main shields has made me pretty much unstoppable in soloin on the highest rep(apart from against Carnies, i hate them damn chicks).
Also i found by taking the fitness pool for staminia and taking Energy Drain, my endurance problems are a thing of the past, also i never noticed that Energy Drain doesn't take Acc enhancements..so slotted it with 3 Recharge and 3 End Modification, it gives it almost sapper strength end drain (can normally drain about 1/2 the endurance in one shot, and it never misses)
But anyway i'm starting to ramble, long and the short of it is stick with, it all ends in sunshine and smiles....but not for your targets

Sorry me again, just noticed that you have 3 Acc enhancements, i never use that many, i found by taking Build up with the added ToHit buff it gives ya i can pretty much hit everything 1st time with only 1 Acc in all my attacks, just slot Build up with 3 Recharge and if you have some spare stick some ToHit buffs in there.
All my attacks are slotted 1 Acc, 1 End cost, 1 Recharge and 3 Damage....with the addition of Haste everything comes round quick to keep up a decent chain attack, i know this is moving away from your current build, but i'm just putting my 2 cents forth for people to critic.
And for the record with Build up i can 2 shot a +3 minion and Lieutenant with just Total Focus/Energy Transfere and Bone Smasher.
Im waiting to see if i7 brings some changes to my eng/eng brute as until then i wont be useing her, the acc defence and end use of this AT against other brutes at the same lvl(lvl 17) imo is very poor, if the next update dosnt make any changes to the power set then i will be dropping her.

The only reason the three accuracies are in there is because he's only 18th level, no SO's yet.
I was hoping not to take the Aid Self power as it really doesn't fit with his image.
I've asked this before, but what first power did you take in that pool to get to aid self, did you find either one to be more useful or do you just not use them at all (aid other or stimulant I think they are)?
I took Aid Other in the Medi pool 1st, but left it unslotted as i wanted to stick them else where...never used it,probably never will. But as i said for the way i play (mainly solo) Aid Self is pretty much a given, unless you're gunna carry a load of greens.
You said it dont fit your build...my advice is set a bind for "Hey look over there, Isn't that Elvis!" then secretly use it under your coat.

Just recently picked up Total Focus. Ain't it a shame that when you get such an uber power it isn't really that good compared to your already slotted previous powers. Still, looking forward to getting it slotted for damage and accuracy sometime soon.
Once its slotted for damage Total Focus is sweet as a nut, my most used attack....was a little disapointed with Energy Transfer, it hits for more damage than TF but a cost of around 120 hit points which will slowly increase with your lvl...currently lvl 35 and lose 130 hit points everytime i used it, so i only ever use it as my opening attack. Bit of a crappy animation as well considering its an uber attack, but fun none the less.
