Been meaning to do this for ages. Here's my lvl 50 build for my Fire/Energy Blaster. He's level 27 atm, I just got me a respec and I want to make him pretty PvP oriented.

I've decided to drop Fire Ball bcause I realise I don't really use it that much anyway.

A problem I can see is that I won't have Aid Self in Siren's Call. I also found my self with a lot of slots where I didn't know where to put them.

Also, please pay no attention to the levels which I put the slots in at.

Suggestions? Advice? Flames?

nrg secondary = gooooood, fire primary = baaaaaad,

seriously, consider anyhting except fire for a pvp build, u have no control and the extra dmg is almost pointless (compare this to bonus control).

I don't know, Captain Napalm is pretty effective in PvP.

RE: The build.

I'd probably drop the damage enehancements from Power Thrust, it's pretty low damage and it's main use is just to knockback (which is very useful) and I'd swap the defbuff in CJ for a jump enhancement...the defence bonus is marginal.

true maX, spose not bad del and empath,

compare a lvl 18-40 fire blaster to an elec or ice, and to a lesser extent sonic or energy blaster, whos gonna win 10000-0 once the BFs are gone or in a poor-average PUG pvp team? thats my point really.

my advice for all blsaters, be able to move fast in melee and range, have aim and BU 3 slotted recred, and have aid self well slotted too.

Respectfully disagreeing - so long as you can make the extra damage work for you (and a good player will), you have no need of control.

Granted, I think you limit your targets somewhat; at the very least, some builds will be more difficult to take out than others - but at the end of the day, the aim is to reduce your opponents HP to 0... and Fire/Energy is the most direct route of doing that.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, Plighty - no need to not be nice about it either. I don't always send people away in flames when I disagree with them, I actually prefer civilised debate.

I understand and appreciate where you're coming from - control makes Blapping a lot easier, in whatever form you can grab it, be it Ice (holds, slows), Elec (hold, end-drain), Energy (KB), or Sonic (disorient, KB, sleep). A lack of control doesn't make Blapping impossible, however - in PvP or PvE... it just makes it that much more important to have your tactics down right.

FWIW, I wouldn't make a Fire/Energy without some form of Concealment, I wouldn't go for two travel pools, and I'd think seriously before not taking Blazing Bolt... then again, I don't really believe in the Holy Grail of Aid Self either, so I'm non-standard in that respect. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.

i dont think aid self was very standard in blasters (although many non forumites tried it, only cos it sounds good, no blaster guides used to have it in), un til i started ranting about it when i realised in i4 it would sort me out a treat (even more than power sink for end). anyways...
