Instant Base Raids?

Ok, we tried that yesterday evening.

You were right, you have to be face to face with your opponent and invite him to be raided.

He then gets a message with information, and he can accept or deny the raid. When he accepts it, there's a 5 min delay before the raid begins.

Everyone willing to take part in the raid has to join with the previously described procedure before the raid actually starts.

If you have only one anchor, you loose the raid if the anchor is destroyed.

So we could try instant raids right away, only need raid teleporter and at least one (but less than 5?) anchors?

Btw, has anyone actually played out instant raids yet here on EU servers?

We did three of them last night on Vigilance (the french server) for test purposes (well, the third one ended in a big fight ).

The attacker had a raid tp, and we have a generic base not ready at all for the Cathedral TF, etc... having one anchor is all you need. Two is a bad idea, since they win by destroying only one.

Ok this is nice to know, maybe we could try pick-up-and-pay base raids here as well. Is there any limit on how many defenders or attackers there can be on the base?

Well I can only guess here...

The raid window indicated two figures : "n/16".
Where n was the number of people on our side taking part in the raid.
No matter how many they were on the other side it always said 16.
So, I guess the maximum is 16 per side.

Yeah thats right. However you may encounter a bug(s) which for some reason wont let you join (the join raid button is greyed out)

Also half my team kept crashing before the event (opening up supergroup tab bug) and thus missing out on the raid.

One other thing, does it make any more changes apart from your acc going down. I say that as our granite brute went down faster than ummmmmm a sack of spuds (it could well be due to everyone being lk'd up and thus being alot harder). Needless to say his first impression wasn't that great but i think it has some potential and will be wanting to do some more raids.

Quick note to a) say thanks to MaxPowerz and the E.V.I.L SG for test-raiding with us Friday night - was a blast and we'll be up for it whenever u want - yes its buggy (the lack of join button on my GUI was a tad annoying - but the other Demons had fun.

The join button bug has been fixed in an upcoming patch according to US boards - as has the one that randomly tps in people on the same team (I believe the intention is that peeps on the same team tp to same location), Understandably at the moment the random tping gives the defenders a hell of an advantage as the attackers are all split up.

If any other SG's wanna have a test raid (or be raided) then by all means chuck me a tell on Union to @Cold Spark there's normally enough of us around for a team.

This feature will make quite a difference to the game I think as it becomes more used (esp once the trial is up).

Bridger don't suppose u could find out if prestige is going to get reviewed / has been reviewed in terms of the costs.... At the moment I don't think its at a very realistic level. Our SG is pretty active and we earn maybe 70k prestige an evening, 200k at a w/e. At that rate we'll all be old and grey before we get the super-uber mega secure base complete with sharks with frickin laser beams . Now I'm not saying reduce it hugely... I would say plots come down by a factor of 10, as does crafted item placing costs. Regular items maybe by a factor of 5. And/Or change the exchange rate on the inf transfer... working in the Foreign Exchange business I can say that I've never seen such highway robbery... actually that's a lie I see it every day :P but still....

Speaking of base bits.... What's the chance of getting multi-level bases? Also water would be quite fun - some of the ladies in our group apparently want a jacuzzi (spelling anyone?) and who am I to deny them?

Anyway - for what was going to be a quick post I'm clearly rambling and should shut up asap.

Nope, there's a bind that let's you do it without meeting them. It's "/raid_invite Name" With the hero/villain name.

This brings you to yet another bug where the invite doesn't actually go to the person you invited but a random member of their SG/VG

Yeah would be nice if you could have the chasms and stuff off the CoT maps. We get access to their bridges, but looks a little daft in a room with nothing to bridge over.

Just a quick question really. When you are raiding someone elses base does it teleport you to a particular place e.g. the entrance room or is it always random? I am trying to make my base more defendable but the attackers seem to spawn in different locations.

well, we faced EVIL sunday night and in the summering we realized none of our 4 defens turrets fired 1 single shot.. is this a known bug, or whats up with that? any1 else have defenses that worked, or didnt?

GJ EVIL u really gave us a good fight.. though u know we will successfully defend ourselves next time

if they destroy any power/control items you probably didnt have power left to fire them...

ok, that was the obvius response.. but we had power and control.. more than enough as well.. and yes, targets where in range and sight of turrets..

might also have exceeded the max number of weapons in secure room, though i'm not 100% sure if thats possible =)

Ive spoken to my sg and your defenses were working!!! Some of my sg have the debt to prove it (yes you get debt for being killed by defences - WAI).

tell me ur kidding! Debt from turrets in base-raids??? wow.. thats just mean lol.. glad to hear my cannons worked, was afraid i spent all that (yes, alot) salvage on nothing

can't see an answer to this, so I'll chip in

AFAIK, attackers can spawn in any doorway in the base being raided (the 1x1 sections between rooms). So that's the thing to bear in mind in base layout.

Now for my question: I may be mistaken, but I thought that coalition members were supposed to be able to come to your aid in the event of a base raid? Our SG has tried this in "test" instant raids and no coalition members were able to sign up. Was I mistaken and this is WAI? Have any others had success with trying this?

I mainly ask as we recently had to shift all our 50's to a second coalitioned SG due to growing numbers of members. It would be nice to be able to use those 50's in base defence without having to play musical SG's

as far as i know, coalitions cant join in, but i agrea.. this was my 1st thought as well (and very handy for both small and big SGs, as u said, an Alt-SG can join in and/or an allied SG can help when ur outnumbered/outpowered) we can hope that it will be posssible in the future so we can finally have a real use of coalitions more than spamming
