I have a TA/archery defender on union, and though solo can be hard in teams they are nails!
Glue arrow is a must have 
And the fast rate of fire for the netty hold arrow is great too
TA/Archery is a fantastic set, it's just not what people initially think of when they think of a Defender. It's a very offensive set of powers, with good damage and rehcarge times. Yes, solo they're tough to level, but in a team they're incredibly valuable.
The sheer fact that Flash Arrow doesn't draw aggro is amazing! Stock up for Recharge enhancements, and you can afford the time to get two of them off for large groups before the team attacks.

For a laugh, I am rolling an all-archery defender. Heard they were a bit rubbish. However, they would absolutely rock in a team of the same with stacked tactics.
Would anyone be interested in an occassional knockabout group of archery defenders?
