Corruptor+Brute works well together. Make an /EA brute and put thermal shields on it, excellent defense and good resistance. Add Forge for sweet killing and heals whenever a hit goes through.
/Kin is also excellent with brutes, it really helps keeping fury high throughout a mission.
/Cold works well with melee ATs as well, good shields and slows incoming damage.
/Dark works with any, as it's more about debuffing enemies than buffing team, same with /rad
/traps seems more of a soloing secondary, but maybe it can go well with a Stalker?

I have to agree with Icelock. A corruptor and brute make a great partnership.
For yourself you are probably looking at a thermal corrupter - they are very much support orientated and have buffs and heal. A kinetics corruptor could also be very useful.
Brute wise I would probably look at Super Strength and Invulnerability or stone armour. If your friend went for an Inv brute I would go for thermal corruptor, if your friend went for stone armour go for a kinetic corruptor.

Thanks muchly for the advice. Turns out the replies came after we rolled, we ended up dark/dark brute and fire/thermal corruptor.
We seem to smash through stuff quite well, and we cranked the difficulty up to the middle notch (sorry cant remember the name as im not in right now :P) due to the fact we're fairly experienced MMO players.
As for the synergy in our choices, im finding we kill pretty damn quickly, when i have aim up he can pop a few inspirations and we drop even orange minions at an insane speed, and even at other times we seem to speed through stuff (except COT demons). My only concern is the damage he seems to be taking, and my accuracy. Im hoping this'll become less of an issue over time as he gets more skills and i get better accuracy enhances.
Another question however, the buffs such as fire/plasma shield and even the damage buffs, how effective are they and how much should i concentrate on them with our duo mostly in mind?

Kinetic corrupter and a DA brute, is a match made in heaven, the brute will have his endurance problems solved with speed boost and transference, damage kept up with fulcrum shift, and that lack of energy res in DA will be made up for with increase density
Myself and a freind just got hold of COV. I played COH a long long time ago and at the time played a Defender. Now looking at the COV classes there seems to be no set definition of what class fits what role, which is a good thing i imagine but makes it hard to decide what to play.
I looked round all over and we're finding it hard to decide on a good combo, ideally id like to play a support class but being a good duo build is my primary concern. Would /thermal be good or is it designed for bigger teams? And what AT goes well with each secondary (For him to play).
I know a lot of it is down to playstyle which is why asking this question is perhaps a bit silly. Im sure however someone out there has have good experiences with certain AT combos and builds. Any help would be appreciated.
