Shock and awe!

Thats how i felt after LvL 32 on my Robots/FF Mastermind.
I know sometimes playing a Mastermind can be very frustrating, like when one of your minion somehow decide to go brawl that purple con boss and agroing the whole lot next to him. There are a few rough lvl, 20 to 24 was not very fun. Once you get your second Protector Bot things start to roll your way again and you are Two levels from your assault bot! This should keep you motivated. Then the long road to level 32!
No words can really explain the sheer AoE power of your little robotic army. If sometimes you feel bored and about to give up on your MM for another AT, just don't! You won't regret it once you hit level 32! And thats reguardless of your secondary power set.
Missiles flying over your head, full auto lasers and proton grenades is just too cool to watch.

Don't forget the searcher bots! hehe... they are nice
32 is an epic level for MM's... the final upgrade just makes them worth it all!
Mind you by the time you hit 36 it is all begining to pain you, so much summoning and buffing just isn't fun
I'd tried an /FF on Beta, which is why I went for the /Traps option: they're not quite so indestructible, but you get a balance of buffs and debuffs and doesn't take so long on the buffing process for all the bots.
And yes, incendiary swarm missiles do make you feel like a proper evil genius.
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

I know i know.. sometimes i wish i'd picked something else like traps or DM (my merc mm is DM and about to hit 26 soon, gotta try that commando!)
Also i don't have stamina... you can imagine the pain when i have to buff my team mates if i'm in a group + my assault bot and the two protectors (i don't bother buffing my drones if i'm in a group).
FF does require more setup, i mean time before you are battle ready but it does make a difference after all. Of course, insulation shield alone won't make a difference but when you stack insulation/deflection shield, dispersion bubble and the protector's force field all slotted with SO, i'm positive my bots don't get hit as often.
I picked up Personal Force Field out of curiosity (CoV is my first game, i haven't played CoH before). And with my recent adventures in Warburg i'm very happy i decied to give it a try lol! I was doing the missile mission when some stalker poked me in the ribs, what ensued was real funny. With PFF on i just stood there while bots kept pounding the poor guy.
I couldn't kill him as my bots were missing alots since PFF negate your AoE buff (oddly enough dispertion bubble still worked?). He was really focusing on me and ignoring my bots, he had to leave after a good minute swinging at thin air and i guess running out of blue. The bots even without tactics/assault and MM's buff were still doing average damage only problem is they were missing too much.
I also noticed that with my merc/dm i ran into more problems against boss even with Darkest Night and with my bots/ff i can keep a boss locked with detention shield, dispatch his goons then just keep him on his back with force bolt. I recently picked up fearsome stare on my merc but i can't rely on it too much for boss fight :/
I love both though. But i must admit my robots are favorite Just a word really for my fellow robots/* don't give up the grind untill you reach lvl 32 at least! Its a real show!
Ive read about the 20-24 stretch being difficult, but I never expected it to go this slow :S Now I see what you all meant with that.
However I already had a taste of the Assault Bot, so I know I wont give up till I hit 40
I've been playing for a not small portion of the day and my MM is still level 22. Being part of an 8 person team for a few missions helped, soloing these levels is friggin' torture. One block per mish, that's as fast as I was progressing. But hey, MM is still the funnest AT I've played.
"Maybe in the end, what makes heroes into heroes...is that we're just too stupid to quit."
Ah I'm not talking about any other buff than the level 6 and the level 32 buffs. Robotics/Dark for me, and even with 3x RecRdx SOs slotted into upgarde (lvl32 buff) it takes way too long to buff the pets.

I'm actually not that annoyed by it... I have stamina, 3 slotted, I have hasten, 4 slotted (going for the last 11% as well, so 112% recharge), my summoning is over in less than 40 seconds... with the lich and one grave guard fully upgraded, the second grave guard get's upgraded about 1 min in the mish, most likely during the first fight.
So... It's not that bad IMO But... might just be me...
And if the MM starts to get annoying, I simply go to an alt for a few hours and then it's over
I also find helping SG members, getting MK'ed, add some fun to the whole MM thing, as you get MK'ed, you loose pets and revert back to that lowbie stage... it's all fun
I can agree on the fact the readying the mercs in every mission is a bit ... frustrating. But what was it in the 20-24 range the was so hard? My MM (mercs/dm) are at lvl 39 now and I must say I have had great fun all the way. Only way to get some kind of challenge is to run it at ruthless or in big teams
I'm not sure whether it's just the bots that can do this, but I find I can fire off both Equip and Upgrade in quick succession and it only takes slightly longer than Equip alone.
I get the big bot ready, pull up the FF Generator and roll out straight off, buffing the others as I go along.
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
