Toys

This is just a quick idea that ive thought up.

Wouldnt it be cool to have a toy power set... Stealing an idea from the robots powers... but maybe their entrance could be a giant "Jack in the box" or toy box idea where your minions are fired out when they spawn.

For your primary pet you could have either have Toy soldiers that shoot explosive corks or even teddy bears who charge into close combat.

For secondary pets maybe the idea of having bears that pull stuffing out of themselves to create "Fluff" shields around their allies. That absord or soften damage.

For the big boy it could be a giant teddy bear that wreaks havoc ... or even a giant "jack in the box" with a rocket laucher or a giant bean bag gun

The minions could be really bright and colourful on the outside... but savage killers on the inside.

The toy soldiers could look like the Green Army men that you get in mass or the Nut kracker soldiers...

(picture the scene)

Hero Superspeeding through bloody bay. All of a sudden he hits a giant colourful box that had just appeared out of thin air infront of him. He looks the box over and wonders what the heck it is and what may be inside. It reminds him of his child hood. He smiles.... All of a sudden the box opens and out pops a Giant "Jack" and lauches a bean bag at the hero.... Next thing we see is a giant Jack in the box chasing the hero around bloody bay

Good idea, except for the nightmares I'd get from them. Akira made toys a very scrray thing.

They'd possibly be worse then clowns.

Or mimes!

Care bears with lasers FTW...

(Re: the mimes, anyone else played No-One Lives Forever 2? The Mime King has the best AV sequences ever. And there are many vehicle sequences in many FPS games, but an enraged Scotsman on a tricycle has to be the best mode of transport ever.)

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Many a demented toymaker has made appearances as super villains in comics over the years, so this could actually be a bit of fun

They should probably go with something a bit darker - like Tim Burton-esque toys, or just keep it a very dark tone of colour - could be rather creepy and would make for an excellent horde (imagine more but weaker minions) options, where you flood the enemy in exploding teddy bears, marching toy soldiers and the like

Good idea. See sig...

I'm not sure what the power set should be but they should be some ranged and some melee and generally wacky all over.

Failing a toys set, being able to paint the Mercs set a flat plastic green would be nice.

@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.

I like the idea about the tim burton-esque toys....

I was also thinking about the toy soldiers that you see in the "Santa Claus 2" film. very childish looking but having several of theme mob up on you may be a lot scarier than you think.

I've also seen a few villain costume pieces that remind me of the old nut cracker dolls that you find in traditional christmas scenes.

Which is probably caused by all the effects those minions (not pets - different class ) have available - I was thinking something less complicated in size with Rikti monkeys, and in the pre-I4 days, my tank could gather 50-70+ of those in one place (and dont even get me started on Freakshow) without lag

Most of the new pets are pretty heavy on the particle effects, and that is probably adding lagg as well as CoV not appearing very optimized yet.
