On the Inv side that is close to my build.

The only power I'm not getting from the primary is Resist Physical Damage though, without it I've had no problems against all those Avs.

I've found that my build is great against anything short of Rularuu ( the def buffs combined with Psi damage ) are just nasty.

As for the Resists, I got resist Energies but not Resist Elements. I'm am reconsidering whether to get Resist Elements as my last power or not.

I look at sites on us forums (and i guess alot of ppl here do too with the amount of copycat stuff i see) but anyway as far as sustainable damage goes weave has been said to be better than resist energies and elements so why get them? There is a for and against factor and its just a matter of choice really.

As for Rularuu they dont even have to be too hard you can tank it in a way to make it alot easier the range taunt and hide to get foe group up (into an unconfined and safer area) for quick kills is the safest way. imo you cant possibly make it any safer.(okay make sure its on heroic for utmost safety).

In doing this you may come to believe you can tank anything with only main primaries for the most of the game if u wanted and have more attacks. The quick mass killing by you and the team through cones and aoes, holds, disorienting, knockbacking and stunning of foes also add to your survivability as well as the buffs/heals defenders give you and how well you keep your saved insps from being used through safe tanking until the AV. The quicker they die the less they can hurt you basically and tanking so that you dont herd the team into dangerspots does too.

The way I judged it was unless I was up against AVs, I would be better off with Weave than the appropiate passive. However generally you know and AV is coming and can deal with them using inspirations.

Yes, with Rularuu, sensible pulling works. However this is the only enemy where I had to do this whilst soloing since the early levels. The other strange one is Malta, where I had an odd tactics of superspeed, target Sapper, hit follow, Incinerate, Greater Fire Sword. This is an example of using my secondary as you stated. However if I had slipped either of those 2 powers I would have had big problems doing the 3 or 4 malta missions I soloed as this was before I picked up Unstoppable.

Since i tend to avoid soloing because I think that paying to play a game like it's offline is a bit dumb, I'm talkin from the team view of my build because if I have to solo, I play something else..
Obviously if there's a dark or a rad nearby my survivability goes way up due to debuffs+heals, if a slightly decent empath is nearby I think I'm pretty unkillable(being one-shotted by psi AVs doesn'ìt count)with Fortitude or AB and with some good timed Heal Other, if a kin is in the team I'm even more happy, due to the huge heals from Transfusion and the uber buff from Fulcrum Shift.

But even without defenders or controllers in team I've noticed that even being the only tank I can still be pretty useful, because having no defenders or trollers means having more damage output, so I'll have to keep the aggro for less time, so in both case I can do my job.

That said, I'm happy to see that I finally reached a build that both works well(because i still get help request, despite how much tankers are disliked in these days)and with wich i have fun!

i had to laugh! what if u love the game but hate teaming! you guys are examples imo of their being more ways to skin a cat.

there is no uberbuild does all as you know, its nice to know (for me) how other people think, its even better for me to know there are other passionate tankers out there (cos i am most certainly one). people can post their builds with personal choice of powers from their experience and playstyle like jioazy has. whats most important is good slotting and jiaozy on his def res has good slots. jiaozy's build is a good build for doing what jiaozy likes to do most and thats take damage, i had it, different order but i had the lot except epic choice.

i normally get by with a great team, usually sticking to people i know. Inspirations are mainly a back up or if i know i am in for trouble for sure, for me mother mayhem is that trouble mostly on the outside map, indoor map nowhere near as difficult but i like to not use insps on route.

i do like those tacts unthing i always use superspeed follow knockout blow(hold) haymaker(knockback) footstomp(knockback) jab(disorient) whatever else may be needed blah blah (i think red sappers maybe my limit and i then start with hurl(range slotted) but i dont ever recall ever seeing a pink as i never had sk'd that low to a malta mission) - anyway bye bye sapper (unless i lag then its oh bleep bye bye me if i cant make good with attacks and conserve energy). i got focused accuracy and rage and 2 accs in knockout blow missing a sapper dont cross my mind but i do find i can miss with other enemies.

this topic is over for me now ive kinda bored myself lol

I tend to solo for the first mission of a session, until I get an invite. It happens rarely now, but there have been periods when I have soloed more. Tanks seems to be in pretty high demand in the 40s, either that or I'm on lots of peoples friends list.

I think tankers provide a very useful role and still seem to work well ( mine does and from the look of your build I'd imagine yours do too) however I can't see them being that quite that good early on in the game. Also the 'accepted wisdom' is that you need a tanker for AVs, I don't know whether this is actually true.

I tend to avoid teaming because I prefer to play the game in my own pace, not being trained through a row of missions, missing out on mission (de-)briefings and the like.

Aye, I found that to be the same with my tank. In the lower lvls tanks are reduced to merely slow scrappers until they recieve their first decent defences like status protects. Solo'ing with your tank through lvls 20-40 is relatively easy due to having the full compliment of your defences available to them. The times when I did team were mainly in TFs (and lots I did o.O ...sick of doing them now, plus don't have the time to go the full distance nowadays) and missions that had difficult bosses or AVs.

Heh, I know many people out there loves soloing, but that's just my point of view, imo there are games that are a LOT better to play solo(Diablo 2 and the saga of The Elder Scroll comes to mind)so if I can't get a team I log off and do something else..

But then again, anyone plays the game as he feels!
The lower lvls(1-15)I agree they are to be soloed cos they are so fast and teaming can be so c.rap that I don't bother soloing for that time, but then the game becomes more enjoyable if teamed because(as many may have notived xD ) I love to have some people to talk to while playing, that both makes me learn english better and makes me have some good times

I'm an habitual soloer and I find it very hard to get out of the soloing mindset (I think I soloed 95% of the time with my tank from levels 15 to 40). I do enjoy teaming but generally I'm quite happy to spend my evening working my way through my missions by myself.

Those games... do they allow you to play as a comicbookish hero, beating the smackdown on villains? They don't... do they now? They're some fancy pansy fantasy mumbojumbo, right?

As for having people to talk to during playing... there's supergroup/coalition/global chat channels for that .

I bought and played D2 a bit after I completed Dungeon Siege. Oh boy, did I quickly get bored and annoyed with the constant clicking to attack in D2.

because of my tourette's and my right index finger abnormally hyperactively tap tap tapping away, the constant click attacks in diablo2 didn't bother me too much ^_^
