Last Hamidon Raid, failed, but not by our fault...
The biggest problem we've had with holding him in the past, is people not slotting there holds/epic holds for Hold duration and nothing else.
People seem convinced that having a couple of accuracy/recharge SOs in there are going to give them a better return, which in normal PvE is correct, but against Hami it's duration that counts.
I'm not saying it's 100% the reason, and I'm sure ED nerfed the raid plans pretty hard. But might be something to communicate well to the next batch of trollers who take on the big lump.
with ED 6slotting holds dont cut it anymore. Its best to maxslot it with 4, and 2 others (recharge or acc) without seeing too much a difference. I'd even say that 3 will cut it. Just look at numbers (presuming you use SOs..):
3 SO - 95%
4 SO - 100%
5 SO - 105%
6 SO - 110%
It's also not only bout the duration, if you got long duration but cant spam em fast enough it has no effect anyway. You need a good balance in spamming them as well as holding them. So therefore i'd say a 3/3 or 4/2 in hold/recharge would be sufficient for hami. (if you wanna know, i got mine slotted 4/2)

This was sposed to be a reply to Electro Mag's posy, but something's gone really wrong at that time of night
My single target hold is slotted with an Hami-O for acc/mez, 3 holds and 2 recharge, wich makes 1 acc, 4 hold and 2 recharge..
6 slotting it is not worth anymore since u get so little bonus that it's better to use it more fast and hope to stack them instead than 6 slotting for holds, IMHO..
With the amount of buffs from Rad/Emp/Kin defenders you shouldn't need recharge SOs in any of your holds.
With how quickly Wamdue's single target hold was cycling on the first Hami-Raid I didn't get a chance to use any other power it was just non-stop one after another.
and That extra little percentage across 20 controller adds up and does make a difference.
Try it, at lvl 50(ish) most people can afford to change a couple of slots for the sake of a hami raid.
The problem was that there simply weren't enough controllers.
I'd say 25 is, or at least was, a comfortable amount where you could be confident of getting there at some point.
just checked out the US boards to see if they have taken them down since ED, alas i have to say even they havent managed to tackle him yet. According to rough calculations they made, you need bout 30-35 controllers grouped with alot of epic holders to actually have a CHANCE of holding him. So unless we get a a whole lotta controllers I think we need to revise the old plans and think of new ones. Next raid (25/11, check other topic) I got a couple of other tactics lined up to test if holding doesnt work, so hope everybody there is up for trying out new techniques and hopefully its able to beat him again once and for all. Got some other tactics as well, but it depends on a question which i doubt people will have an answer on.. but does hamidon spawn mitos for every hero EACH time he hits 50%, or is it like with most trigger lvls that a special event is triggered when he hits 50% once and gets beaten within a set amount of time?

Compared to previous raids I've been on, this is simply not the case. I counted a grand total of 1 speed boost (it is targeted, so not that surprising) and 3 AM on me during the holding phase ... previous raids I've had 10+.
There were never more than 80 people in the Hive at any point during the raid, less than 60 by the end... unless it is an SG run raid with specific builds, I don't think that is enough (anymore, I know about the 24 RAD defenders etc.).
ED has had an effect (I don't think it was the total cause for this raid failure) but I do think using the old technique will require roughly 40%* more controllers than it used to ... meaning even more lag... so ultimately, ED may have invalidated this technique.
*Back of [censored] packet. Need to reach e.g. mag 300/second. Each troller puts out 1/s with no enhancement. 6xHold = +200% pre-ed = 3/s = 100 trollers ftw. With ED, 3xHold =~ +100% = 200/s, requiring 50% more = 150 trollers. I've dropped it a little as not everybody remembers (or has time) to six slot pre-raid. Note I don't know if this is how to calculate trollers to hami, it is right up there with 'Pirates vs. Global Warming'

if im correct the controller holds have a higher mag than the epic holds. So not the mag 1 you suggest. Also the controls stack for a few secs so you dont need to refresh the 300 each second. If that calculation were correct it means we couldnt ever have beaten hami even pre-ed cause afaik there werent/arent 100 45-50 controllers online at the same time on union

Sorry, I was using simple numbers to illustrate a point. I should have made that clearer.
EDIT: - and I can't use (fairly archaic) slang for cigs because it has other meanings??

Controller holds are the same magnitude as the epic holds.
BUT.
Controllers have a (rather small) chance to get a 'critical hold' which is why sometimes you can tag a boss in one hold, instead of needing to stack two, as normal.
Not many people seem to know this.
:edit: should point out that all this is AFAIK, and I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
Warning:
The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

I do ... although I had to be reminded of the fact by Bridger once
Completely off-topic for next raid, but wouldn't dominators absolutely rock in a hami raid? They'd be hitting dominance all the time.... plus once hami was held they could do the damage themselves, reducing lag substantially.
When is 'going rogue' going live again?

We were doin everything fine, a rough start but it has gone better, we gathered enough ppl along the road and ended up millling Mitos one after another, great leadership, great teamwork from EVERYONE till all Mitos were cleared...
At that point we were unable to hold Hami(about 20 trollers, plus like 15-20 more Epic Holders)cos we cannot stack holds for more than 5 seconds cos of ED "balancing" and then no way to kill jelly safely..
If not for the devs this wud've been a really great Raid, we started with 74 ppl ending in the middle of mito clearing around 50/55 heroes, little lag compared to last time, everyone had his own part, no one complained but we failed not for our fault, more than excelent job!!
Cheers for the next one ppl!!
