One would point asking why Microsoft wants you to validate your copy of windows?
If your monitor goes orange, it means your computer has enter sleep mode, or your monitor has a power saver setting on it to turn off after so much time has passed.

Sorry I'm hit or miss when it comes to this stuff. What do you mean Microsoft wants me to validate my copy of Windows?
I must admit curiosity as to the validation comment as well. Except for the DPF (and we all know how IE likes to keep DPFs...) I don't see any flags... but I love to learn, so help my ignorant self out? KThx.
Re: the screen. Turn off *all* screen savers and sleep modes in the computer. Make sure the Catalyst doesn't have any in it (Not an ATI guy, just makin' sure it doesn't have one) and you may even wind up checking the BIOS itself for sleep modes too and turn those off.

Turn off Vertical Sync and Anisotropic Filtering. Take a look at BillZBubba's stickied ATI Issues and Settings Recommendations thread towards the top of this forum. You can pretty much set it at the settings in the first post of the thread.
With the older card you have, you may need to leave the Character Detail and World Detail down a bit as you have them now, but I think you might be able to bump them up to at least Medium for WD and High for CD.
You are a bit light on memory, especially for having so many things running at startup. I'd recommend upgrading to 2GB (motherboard's max) as it should make a rather noticeable difference. If it were me, I'd replace the 1GB you currently have with a 2GB kit so that the memory is the same speed and brand to cut down on incompatibilities. I really like the looks of this Corsair kit, and with the Rebate it makes the price fairly nice. I only buy memory that has a full lifetime guarantee, and Corsair has a great RMA system.

Firstly, let me say this only seems to happen while I'm playing CoH. The problem is that at seemingly random times my game screen will freeze up. I can usually still hear game music and move my mouse cursor, but the screen is otherwise locked. Then eventually the screen turns to black and the small light next to the monitor power button turns orange as if it were entering sleep mode. It will then click back to the game. Most of the time right back to where I left off, but sometimes the game either crashes or I get an error from Catalyst Control Center. This has been happening more frequently as of late. Any suggestions on what I can do?
