SF Ideas Villain Patron SFs & Rewards

Everyone loves an SF. On a boring Saturday afternoon, one thing that can usually get a group going is the suggestion of running an SF. They provide epic storylines, challenging scenarios and the grand finale is usually pretty grand. But Villain-side seems to fall short in this department. Not to say their SFs aren’t grand, but the choices are few. Let me show you:

Heroes : 14 Task Forces
Villains : 5 Strike Forces

I have a proposition for the writers of CoV: Create an SF for each of the Villain Patrons. But! Allow for choices at the very end. Much like that which is given upon mission completion of Valentine- or Winter-Event missions. Allow the player the choice between Reward Merits, Badge, or Costume Pieces.

Here is what I suggest for the choices for each Patron SF:

30 Reward Merits

Skirt/Wrap Thingy that he wears (Bottom option)
Mu Guardian Shoulders (shoulders)
Badge
30 Reward Merits

Riveted Shoulder Armor (shoulder)
Blaster Cannon (gloves)
Badge
30 Reward Merits

-- Captian Mako --
Coralax Back Spines (back detail or chest piece)
Coralax Gloves (gloves)
Badge
30 Reward Merits

A costume piece option upon the completion of the current Lord Recluse SF could be included alongside the choices of Reward Merits and Hami’s. A face plate or new helmet, perhaps? But one thing that definitely needs adjusted is the 25 merits rewarded at the end. Defeating 8 SuperHeroes is difficult work. And besides, Lord Recluse is the top-dog Villain-side, why not at least 50 merits?

I do hope my suggestions are thought provoking and get those creative gears turning. Please let me know what you think. All comments and feedback are appreciated.

none of the hero tf's offer a choice of a costume piece, and badges are already given for completing tf/sf's so there is no reason to change that. also 30 merits is a little high for that, maybe 15-20. but i even think that is a little high.

as for the LRSF, it is about the same as doin an STF and should award the same amount of merits.

pleaqse go play blue side before trying to make any comparisons between the 2. as you said in another thread, you only have 4 lowbie toons hero side. not quit enough experience to be comparring red side to blue side. also, go to paragonwiki.com. they have about eveything you need to know.

I guess what my main point was is that it'd be nice to see an exclusive villian-side SF, or four :P Those of us who perfer red-side, do feel jilted. So it would be nice to have just a Villain SF introduced. And yes, I do know that CoH has been around longer than CoV - red-side has some catching up to do.

As for suggesting SFs for each patron, it is an interesting idea. The reward system I suggested could very well be instated Hero-side. I enjoy the option of choice and having it as an option at the end of an SF, I think, would be fun.

Also, I've done the research, STF rewards 30 merits and LRSF rewards 25. I just think those SFs/TFs that are advertised as the toughest for their respective sides should reward more merits, despite the equation they use to calculate their rewards.

if there is a costume piece to be awarded it is unlocked by doing the tf/sf. same thing with the badge. and i don't think you know, but you can only do 1 of the 4 patrons not all 4. so as for an sf tied to them, i vote no. but add some new contacts throughout the lv's and have them be the new sf contacts i agree with. as for the choices, very few tf/sf's allow for this. as it should be.

as for exclusive villian side sf, are you kidding me? are you saying that none of the villian sf's are exclusive red side? you have to remember that they have to do for both sides not just one.

last thing, if they did what you suggest for merits you would have people only running the STF/LRSF and not the other tf/sf's. that is why they have based it on time. to promote playing the other tf/sf's.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

Technically all the Patrons were going to have their own SF. That is why there is the roman numeral 3 for the LRSF. Also some people still have the Black Scorpion badge that was awarded incorrectly with the Silver Mantis SF.

While some people may gripe about it I would like to see the partons get their own SF. But if you want to with i16 you can make their arcs into one if you really wanted to.
