Which is better for a PvP toon WP or Regen
Spines regen and BS/regen are the usual PvP scrappers.
Range still rules in PvP though

Cuz i was thinkin about having a MA/SD or something i don't know GIVE ME SOME KNOWLEDGE!!! LOL
/Regen blows Willpower away as the best Scrapper secondary for PvP. Blows it out of the water.
The best primaries are Broadsword, Fire Melee, and Katana. Although, of those 3, Broadsword and Fire Melee are pretty high above The rest. PvP is about burst damage, and those two bring the most burst damage to the table.
Spines is not good anymore. It's actually pretty bad (possibly the worst) considering it's so AoE based. And in PvP, you'll rarely use AoE attacks. Spines is pretty poor in PvE for Single Target damage, and the same holds true for its PvP performance. DM isn't so good either, unless you're into fiteklub. Claws is one of the worst, right there with Spines at the bottom. Martial Arts is middle of the road, maybe a little bit below average. It's inbetween Katana and DM.
If you wanna be a respected PvP Scrapper, you should go Fire/Regen or Broadsword/Regen. Katana can work, though.
Someone also told me that MA/Regen is a good PvP toon....
i have a lvl50 BS/Regen it is soooooo kick A**... havent got sets on it yet but it still pwns....
i also here taht MA/Shield is pretty good... just a thought...
The best PvP scrappers that I see on my server are BS/Regen.
I was thinkin of makin a MA/SD or a MA/Reg for PvP cuz for only SD has amazing def but Reg has a better survivalibity. Plus MA is alittle flashy but against other slow attacks its one of the fastest. If i maxiumize on dmg i would be a dazzling foe...
Regen tends to be favored over WP in PvP. Though it has more layered mitigation, WP simply doesn't have the unconditionally high +regen of Regeneration, plus its click heals can come at very opportune times even despite heal decay. Willpower's Rise to the Challenge power can also be simply detoggled by any mez attack because it also have a -To Hit component in its aura.
Burst damage seems to be the general consensus for PvP. That's why Broadsword and Fire Melee are so popular; they bring out big chunks of damage in just a few hits. Katana might also work, but it's less burst damage and more DPS. Martial Arts is also a decent primary for PvP, and probably even better than Katana because it has some controls to its attacks. Sure, it won't hit as hard as Head Splitter, but Eagle's Claw also has a 100% mag3 Stun which will drop or suppress your target's toggles. That is something you can't ignore in PvP, where in the zone or arena.
Spines seems to be popular because it also has range attacks as well as melee. Plus it also does toxic damage, an exotic damage type. Some people might gripe about its AoE capabilities, and lack of ST damage, but its exotic damage and range attacks might make up for it.
I don't know about Shield Defense, since +defense tends to be pretty weak in PvP, even if you have it stacked up. But its AAO power might give more damage potential (if you can get a significant amount), plus its Shield Charge might also work as "ranged" attack if you can catch your target off guard.
The thing about that supposed "exotic damage type" for Spines is that Global PvP Resists make it so that the more exotic damage types (Psy, Toxic) aren't much less resisted than others. Even powers like Tough and the Patron Shields grant resists to all damage types rather than S/L.
MA really isn't a bad secondary, and it could possibly be better than Katana due to no weapon redraw and maybe better burst damage (but not as good sustained damage). The animations for MA can be quite long, which is a good thing for PvP. Remember, the longer the animation the more damage that attack deals. That's why you see Headsplitter and Greater Fire Sword hitting like trains.
I wouldn't advise /SD. I've only seen Tankers pull off SD in PvP, and they get different bonuses than we Scrappers do. Plus, having 3200 HP makes Tankers unbelievably tough.
In addition to what SpiderTeo_OC said about Rise to the Challenge detoggling by any little mez, you also need to be right on top of an enemy for an extended period of time to really get the regeneration bonus that it grants. And it's not likely that you'll be too close to one villain for anything longer than 2 or 3 seconds (unless it's a Brute, but Scrappers usually manhandle Brutes in PvP).

FM/Regen is good too, I think =x
and yeah, /WP on PvP scrappers sucks.
Ok I got this toon out there that I'm gonna make that gonna be pretty bad a**. But I was thinkin what kind of PvP toon could I make? Is it better to have a tank or a scapper. I picked a scrapper for the critical hits. Ok now i wonder which is better for a primary power Martial Artist or Board Sword or maybe even Katana still not sure. Another question which would be a good secondary for him if i make him Will Power or Reger maybe even Super Reflex. Give me some KNOWLEDGE PEOPLE!!
