Looking for a WM/SD build for a brute. I plan on playing him a while but am also useing him/her/it to get to level 50 to unlock the upper classes. Have been gone a while (i left around the time DB/WP first came out) and am trying to feel my way about again. any help is good TY in advance!

I rolled a WM/SD Brute up to 50 just recently, also a BA/SD Brute to compare. I softcapped both of them with IOs.

The WM/SD is better for hard targets that you can stack stuns on. Clobber lets you de-toggle and stun mobs that run evil powers like CoT Ghosts and Malta Sappers, etc. I feel it is overall in the lead over my BA/SD.

Endurance is a bit rough for both. WM is bad on average. BA starts doing crazy high damage with enough buffs and rage, because of this I feel it's worse on end if you can't get any damage buffs going but starts doing great when you get going good. I know a lot of folks like to slot Obliteration sets but I've been going for Multistrike for the heavy end reduction to help combat this.

Both sets, I feel, have too many attacks. I prefer to go with Hasten and drop out a few, being sure to take all the AoEs and a good solid singletarget hard hitter. I also took One With the Shield as a backup source of end generation and it also works great while you are building up your softcap defenses. Lastly, I end up taking every power in SD, even Grant Cover.

Here is my almost completed build, 48.5 right now. This build is relatively cheap except for the Touch of Death sets and the one Obliteration set which can be costly villain side unless you're patient (which I'm not). Oh and the Numina unique in Health isn't cheap at all, but I managed to get lucky on a merit roll. Leveling up I did have Bash as an attack as well (no Hasten), but respec'd into this in the late twenties after picking up Shatter.

If you do take it, it serves as a nice IO mule for the Steadfast Unique so you don't have to waste a slot on it elsewhere.

What do you recommend in it's place?

steadfast unique, as well as glads armor unique, can be put in deflection (where i have them) or tough (if taking the fighting pool, which i suggest).

in place of OwtS, i would take virtually any other power.

from /sd take all powers save OwtS.
