I recently made a Electric/Fire Armor Brute and wanted to know if it was a good choice for Farming and Stuff like that. IF you happen to have mids builds that would be great. I was debating to Switch with a Fire/Fire brute. Please if you have and Comments say them

Depends on what you call Farming. If it's following a team and deal good AoE dmg, it's certainly a good and fun combo.

If it's soloing/leading a team on big spawns I dont think it's the best. I would prefer SS/Shield, Elec/Shield... or even SS/Fire.

Or maybe SS/SA or Elec/SA, if I'm facing 54 bosses.

I know someone who farms on Elec/Fire. It can be quite impressive with the AoE potential. As long as you're selective with your opponent, you'll be able to handle it without much trouble.

It's true that Elec/ is good, but I think SS is a bit better =/

Plus, /FA is a bit too... squish, imo.... unless he's facing demons or mobs that shoots just fires.

Go back to heroes please...

Redside SS/Fire is really OP if you know what your doing. Rage + Firey Embrace + FURY + Footstomp, KO, Ball of Lighting = Pawnage.

Note* I consistantly farm Devouring Earth , Freaks, nemesis at lvl 52 out of AE and in AE I can farm just as well to anything. Sooo I think /Firey is great for brutes

what he said

to the point I have a fire/elec tank build already planned.

Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.

Go play more, please.

If you can be the lead in 54 boss AE farms, then I'll give you a big "YOU WIN."

But I bet you can't with your /FA.

My standard of being good is about whether you can survive 54 bosses as a lead or not.

From what I've exprienced/seen/heard, /FA cannot be the lead in 54 boss farms.

Is that the indicator of a good character these days? Whether you can survive gimped lvl 54 bosses in some random AE mission? Sad state of the game.

The OP never mentioned boss farms btw. Hell, he never mentioned AE either. FA (preferably w/ some defense bonuses) is a great set for normal non AE-centric farming. Personally, I would team it up with SS rather than electric - but that's mainly because I hate having crap ST damage on any character.

Read carefuly. I never mentioned it's THE indicator of a GOOD CHARACTER.

This post is about building a farmer, and yeah, "I" (meaning it doesn't matter what the OP thinks about boss farms) consider farmers that can lead 54 AE boss farms as good ones.

Plus, my indicator of being a good character is mostly connected to PvP. Just so you know. Farm doesn't mean anything to me other than to earn infamy/influence to buy IO's I want on my PvP toons.

Also, I'm not even saying /FA sucks. Don't get me wrong. One of my farmers before AE was SS/FA Brute(which was also a decent PvP toon too).

Quick Reply:

Let's all keep the discussion productive. Often what is best for the poster may not be what is 'best' in the game.

Reasons to roll Elec/ for AoE Farming:
-Fears of a SS nerf
-To be unique
-For a less-resisted damage type

Reasons to Roll /Fire
-Decent, fast recharging heal.
-Decent resists. Not the best, but good.
-Easily fixed penalties (a karma KB protection in combat jumping)
-Not too expensive compared to a turbostoner
-A useful endurance recovery tool in consume

Reasons to choose Mu Mastery:
-Great thematic paring with elec/
-Electric Fences+Burn Patch
-Even More AoE in Ball Lightning
-Mu Lighting just looks awesome
