Fire/Shld vs Fire/WP your thougths

what would have better survivability in more situations?? i have both these secondary on on tanks at lvl 50. Shield is better one on one but WP better in large Mobs. i have my WP set bonuses to soft cap def. and on a numina Tf my shield just sucks when it come to the stupid DE crystal things with their +acc.
Shield Charge is a awesome power and cant be left out of the equation. they cant hit you if their knocked down or dead.
no doubt that Shield can defeat mobs faster but it does have so kinks in its armor as i have stated and i can get WP to Def cap.

So that's my dilemma, Your thoughts.

They're both pretty good, and I see the trade off this way.

Shield defense - more damage (AAO), shield charge, may need a self heal in aid self unless you have lots of native regen, positional defenses defend against all sorts of threats, has a small amount of resistances

WP - more endurance, very good health regen in HttC, layered defenses (moderate resistances, defenses against type attacks), can cap against smash/lethal but hard to cap completely against all types

Personally, it's the higher damage potential of shield defense that won me over. I figure that the best mitigation is a mob that's dead. Also, fire sword circle + shield charge is a mighty sexy AoE combo. I went fire/shield.

I agree and yes shield charge + FSC is sexy sweet even better if you ever hit the 400% damage cap
