So on an ITF last night, i teamed with a WP scrap who said something along the lines of "i would try to tank but i cant after they nerfed WP". having not heard anything about this i asked when and what they did and s/he replied i15 and just commenced to name off power (I assumed the values were lowered?). is there any weight to this? and if so was it in the patch notes?.

Wasn't there a brief period after the initial release of WP when the taunt aura for scrappers worked far better than intended? All I can think of that might be a nerf that would stop them from tanking.

Yeah, I'm not sure what this is about at all. Willpower has to work a little harder to hold aggro, but I haven't had any issues with my WP Tanker at all... I just place him well, Taunt, and attack. WP is a solid, all around set.

As for the aura thing, there were a few screwy ones for Scrappers at one point, but I thought those were for Invuln, actually. No matter what, them fixing that isn't a nerf... it's fixing a bug. People just love the "n" word, though.

I wasn't around for it, but from what I've read it was basically that no one actually knew how Taunt worked, so the Taunt aura on RttC made it so that Scrappers would apply Taunt to everything around them and then when they did an AoE it would glue everything to them (since Taunt actually just multiplied the threat of abilities you used on a taunted target, rather than overriding all threat as was previously thought).

As for this Willpower dude, he's probably just got A Gut Feeling that it was nerfed. I haven't noticed any change at all on Willpower recently. You see this crop up in just about every MMO, with people coming completely out of the blue to say something significant has changed. (My JBoots feel slower/Onyxia seems to be Deep Breathing more/etc.)

The only recent change that I'm aware of is that the taunt duration in Scrapper RttC was increased from 1.0 seconds to 1.25 seconds. That makes it actually slightly more reliable for tanking, putting it on par with that of a Willpower tanker. That change occurred before I15, though.

Obviously, scrapper or tanker, you need taunt duration enhancements in RttC if you want to reliably hold aggro on anything higher than +2 mobs.

My willpower scrapper has no problems holding aggro when needed --- then again, she is Spines, and could hold aggro even if she were Spines/Empathy.
