Plant/* question...

Just remembering a BRUTAL performance by a Plant/Kinetics controller several months ago, and decided that it might be about time to try a Plant/* for myself...

Few questions to go along with it, though, including:

Are the Creepers unbuffable?

If they are buffable, how do they respond to +Recharge buffs, if they respond at all?

How exactly do the Carrion creepers function? Are they immobile? Do they spawn from corpses and just stay in that place?

Other than these specifics... Any advice would be helpful, as well as suggestions for a secondary; I'm thinking Kinetics to follow my little idol, but I'm not dead-set on it.

Short answer: Creepers are buffable, but short-lived.

I don't honestly know about the +recharge buffs. I BELIEVE that all pets lost the ability to be affected by +recharge to fix some issues with the AI, but I dont' know if that applies to Creepers.

Here is the I14 updated guide to Creepers Everything you wanted and needed to know should be in here somewhere.

All pets lost the ability to be buffed for recharge with the I14 patch.

My perference for a secondary is /TA. Long term area debuffs combine quite nicely with all things plant.

Well, the speed buff from Speed Boost and Accelerate Metabolism still applies but not the Recharge buff. (Watching Twoey a/k/a Audrey II run around on SB is highly amusing, even if it doesn't get the recharge buff anymore.) On the plus side, the Devs finally fixed the problem with the various pets and sub-pets from Carrion Creepers not getting the benefits of slotting and procs.

I have a Plant/Rad in the 40s, and he is a heck of a lot of fun to play. Rad provides very flexible team support, and great debuffs to make pets hit harder (while reducing the damage done by confused foes to allow you to get a little more XP). The other combo I am working on is Plant/Storm, with the added chaos/damage powers from Storm in late levels that will somewhat make up for Plant's lack of single target damage.

Plant/Kin is a blast. One of the most fun combos I've played.

my 50 Plant/kin is my most fun toon.

Not only is carrion creepers buffable, but with Fuclrum shift and hasten it's pretty much perma and the creepers are buffed by fulcrum shift.
