Keep your main and make a new Lightslinger on another server. In fact, make a Lightslinger on each server and try the different powersets already suggested above.

If you come to Justice, I'll help you out.

Considering that the Legacy Chain light blasts are clearly from the Energy Blast animations and effects, stick with energy.

Or roll a Peacebringer.

Radiation Blast is uber cool but the particle effects don't bring to mind "light". Depending on which powers get proliferated, Rad could include some real "smoky" "foggy" effects like in Irradiate.[/QUOTE]

I think a reroll to a rad blaster would be nice- giving you the opportunity to try it out and the fact as someone mentioned, the sound effects are cooler that energy's in reference to light powers. However if the visual aspect is most important to you I think an energy or peacebringer might be best. My suggestion is to download all of these powersets if you have them into the tutorial. When it goes into open beta, take a look at what the powers will look like yellow when you recolor.

heh, I started this a few years ago. Most of these are still under 10, but I have Lightslinger as an Inv/ Tank, a /WP Scrapper, an Ill/Rad Controller, and a Peacebringer, there are several more but I can't recall all the other combos of Lightslinger out there

Exactly why this has boggled me! If you go the Green Lantern route of "hard light" constructs and blasts, Energy is perfect! But if you go the UV radiation route, Rad/ is perfect!

I think the particle effects are what eventually swayed my decision completely, Rad's later blast effects don't really reflect a sunlight blaster as well.

Thanks for the opinions and help everyone. I've decided Lightslinger on Victory (the original) will be updating his Energy attacks to the appropriate sunlight blasts come I16. While radiation does capture some parts of Lightslinger's concept better than Energy, overall the late game graphics stray too far from the idea of Lightslinger. The aforementioned Green Lantern way of looking at Lightslinger's powers, more as "hard light blasts/constructs" than radiation seems to fit the concept better.

Altoholic I am it only took a few seconds to come up with a new concept for my Rad blaster on Virtue. What would've been a new version of Lightslinger as a Radiation Blaster will now be called Everlight (I was proud of this name snag too!)

Thanks for indulging my OCD-esque questions and concerns regarding my character concepts. I hope this thread helped someone else who may have been considering a better way to portray light attacks come Issue 16.
