Cap AE XP/Day
Farmer plays Character1 to the XP cap per day.
Log outs Character1, logs on Character2, plays to the XP cap.
Repeat with as many Characters as he can fit during his playtime.
"Make it per account", you say.
Farmer pays for multiple accounts, keeps doing it without trouble (Some folks already have multiple accounts, this isn't a stretch by any means).
This isn't even touching the fact that I've yet to seen any proof that AE hurts the game. I'm sorry, but folks enjoying the game in a way you don't enjoy personally is not "hurting the game". The only thing that can hurt the game is people unsubbing - and no, threatening They'Re Going To Leave If The Devs Don'T Fix This NOW!(tm) isn't the same thing.
Only suscriber numbers will tell us the truth, when they're released ; and don't even try to claim the AE ruined the game if there's a slight drop proportionally equivalent to the same population drop there has been since years ; it'd have to be a bigger decline than that to be able to blame it on AE, especially as CO's open beta is opening soon.
Most of these antifarming suggestions are so ridiculous.
The only one I saw that made sense was to stop new players from being directed to the architect contact with a waypoint as soon as level 1 on their first character ever. Now, that's something I think most people could agree with.
Just how has the game been "severely damaged" by the AE? Because there are so many players running around not knowing what they're doing? Ever play on Freedumb? Just remember these noobs are paying for subscriptions. That means more money in the pot to add other fun stuff to the game. So I argue that AE has severely helped the game, not vice versa. They can fix the AE by not allowing the creator to pack it full of bosses or lts (and certainly not bubbles). Period. No more farming. But since they are allowed to stack the missions, don't punish the players. And to place a cap on xp is kind of defeating the point of double xp wouldn't you say?
*And BTW, I'm NOT a farmer*
I think the real issue of the game being "severely damaged" is that new players who have quickly leveled up quickly have unrealistic leveling expectations.
Let's face it, leveling up, getting new powers, and then trying them out is a big thrill, especially for new players. The AE levelfest that many have complained about make that thrill happen more frequently.
The big problem is, once those people go out into the regular game, leveling may be too slow and grindy for them. If they don't like it, they may quit the game. And that's not what we want.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Yes, I'm sure flaming farmers are ready to do their thing, but IMO there needs to be a cap/day on XP generated through AE.
I'm not sure how much it will do at this point...the game has already been severely damaged by the mass of XP rolling in from the AE system, and may never recover. But closing the barn door after the horse is gone is better than not closing it at all, I guess.
