Brief request for knowledge-type help-
Sometimes "Back" and "Front" can become switched, apparently, you might try reversing them. But I haven't seen that myself.
If you need more spawn points, Troll-style cave, try Unique->Caves(Unique)->Trolls. It appears you could have 3 of your bosses in the one room, the other(s) scattered about. Hope the 64 any detail, 35 boss, and 312 collectibles is enough

I've tried every single position- Front, Middle, and Back, and he still spawns in the same damn (unmarked) place.
Yeah, but that's the Atta Cave, isn't it? It's sodding huge, to the point of borderline unplayability :/
And 64 any detail, 35 bosses, and 312 collectibles doesn't help my need for an ally/rescue point in the slightest

I don't understand. Why can't you use one of the any detail spots for an ally?
That is the Atta cave - your enemies might carry a Clue that gives directions to the bosses room, left, then right, then right, then... yeah, borderline.
But it's not the number of spawn points that is your problem. Probably relates more to the order of your objectives. I used an Office-to-Caves map no. 7 (might be same as yours) in a test arc 265550. It is empty except for 1 ally and 4 bosses. I put the ally objective first, so that the one front location won't be used up already, and thus it will always be in the front of the map. The bosses come next, could go anywhere.
I set that map to Empty to speed up your look-see, but that should not be a factor - any remaining spawns are allocated only after the objective ones are placed.
Remember, that an "any" location does permit allies. It can be anything! (other than a collection). Just get your objectives in the right order.
If you're trying to edit a published arc without changing the arc number, then reordering objectives is a complete nightmare. Make a Local Copy of the arc, edit it manually, and test, to be sure that reordering objectives will be worthwhile in that case.

I'm really not sure, honestly- I had originally used the Smooth Caves 9 (large) map, tried adding an ally to one of the Any spawnpoints there, and it glitched out hideously at first (wound up being uncompleteable), then told me I had too many rescue/ally/whatever details and wouldn't let me republish.
I may have to try re-ordering the objectives, *sigh*... it's irritating that the order of objectives should take priority over where you've coded things to go -_-;
Thanks for the help, anyways.

What I find more irritating is the fact the clues are placed on the Clues dropdown in the order your objectives are in the mission. I have a mission with 2 boss encounters and I need them to be in the right order, so I need to put the one in the back first on the list and the one in the middle second. Otherwise it can happen they switch. But that means the clue from the second boss is in higher on the clue list than the clue from the first boss.

I'm not sure that it reliably takes precedence, but it certainly does happen. By far the least time consuming way to re-roder them is to edit the Text Document for the mission with some cuttin' and pastin'. If that scares you (and it does me a bit) than your only alternative, AFAIK, is to manually add them and delete the old ones.
Hmm... hadn't thought of poking around in the text document... but... argh, I hadn't really wanted to unpublish the old one, so that's not really an option -_-;

I've been scrounging through the various cave maps, trying to find one that supports a good number of 'any' objectives, at least four boss spawnpoints, and also allowing for an ally/hostage rescue/whatever the other thing you can do there is. The only one I've found so far is Large Office-to-Cave Transition 7, and it's proving... problematic; bosses spawn front-loaded, while the ally I want to provide spawns at the very back of the map, no matter what I set him at.
So... are there any other cave maps out there that fit my objectives that anyone has come across? I've spent a while on this, and it's getting frustrating (er, one other caveat- I'd prefer the Troll/Smooth Caves if possible, but it's understandable if it's not :/)
