Dom Changes...

I was just wondering if anyone else has voiced this "concern" (the other posts relating to the new Dom are pretty lengthy and it is easy to miss something). Since the idea of the change was to make the Dominator more viable when not under Domination they took away the damage portion of the inherent and increased the damage of the secondary powers. Why didn't they increase the damage of the primaries as well? Not talking anything significant, just to make them more worthwhile.

They increased the base damage modifier for the AT which automatically increases the primary powers overall damage.

2 reasons, one is because they are from the same power as controllers it would increase their damage as well. It uses the same power only different modifers. They would have to create a seperate power for all the dom versions if they did that. Secondly I dont see the point. Aside from levitate, propel and lift there arent any real attacks in the primaries. So changing the damage would be a waste cosidering how good the secondaries are at doing that.

Thanks for the quick responses. They both explain the changes pretty well. I guess since I really like Mind, I was being a little selfish wanting levitate to be stronger Though, now I just use telekinetic thrust, which is just too cool, IMO.

They absolutely did increase the primary damage that doms do. As posted above it was an overall damage modifier increase.

I'll explain a bit. Every arch type has a damage modifier on it, and it varies by the job. Ie MMs have low damage modifiers since their pets put out their damage. So gloom on a corrupter would do more damage than gloom on a mastermind.

So what that means is doms now roughly equal controllers in containment. Levitate now does what it did in dom previously, or 75% more than out of dom pre 15.

Thanks again. I guess I wasn't really sure how changing the melee and ranged damage modifier would affect it. Pretty straightforward actually, not sure why I didn't get my head around it.
