Creating 2nd Install
I'll start with the 500 lb. Gorilla. Why do you need a 2nd install of CoH?
Ok, now that the 500 lb. Gorilla has been acknowledged, some more pointed questions.
What is the path to the old install? What is the path to the new install?
Right-click the new shortcut. What is the path on the Target line? Is it pointing to the new install or the old one? If it is pointing to the old install, change it so it indicates the new path.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
I'll second that: why do you think you need two installs?
FYI, I have two accounts and often run them simultaneously from the SAME installation/directory.
Or is there another reason? Are you referring to the test server?

You don't need a second install, unless it's a different version: Test, or EU.
Hi, I have been having a problem creating a 2nd install of CoH and was hoping the kind players on the forum could help me out. The basic problem is the shortcut to the 2nd install runs CoH from the 1st install folder.
I am running Vista 32 bit.
I copy CoH into a new folder.
Create a new short cut to Cohstart.exe (renamed Cohupdater.exe (?) so Vista does not elevate the program)
Run the short cut which launches the game.
* The Installation dialog does not start.
* Player account folders are not created in 2nd install folder.
* Checksum file is not created in 2nd install folder.
Note lines with * is why I think the game is not running from the 2nd install folder
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Best regards,
