Can't access my main servers?
Cleared the cache.
First IP: 11 starts the "request time out" 9 hits 115 ms (highest there)
Second IP: 11 starts the "Request time out" 9 hits 104ms (highest again)
Third IP: 15 starts the "Request time out" 12 hits 174ms (highest one) Frankfurt1.Level13.net is the last phrase for 12.
Fourth IP: 15 starts the "Request time out" 13 hits 173ms (highest one) Frankfurt1.level13.net is the last phrase.
Guessing it's the "Frankfurt1" thing that's taking me down.
Support Claim updated to show new information. Thanks all who helped so far
IIRC, I have seen that Level13.net show up before, ages ago.
Not the Frankfurt1, but the top-level domain, Level13.net. Not sure about Frankfurt1, I think that's new this time.

*Frankfurt*?!? Germany?! Wow...
Wait a second... dug about, the server is somewhere in Massachusetts, apparently, according to my pingplotter trace... I think. Tried to verify the IP using a couple of online geo IP locators, and it seems to confirm what the PingPlotter is showing me.
So... you're going from Mesa, AZ to Salem, MA (?) to Chicago, IL, if what you've told us is right. More about Chitown in a second, for those who are confused at this time...

You really need to download this and perform an unlimited, one second ping test on these things. I'd be very interested in the pictures of the graphs, if you could. It'll likely show the problem sticking out like a rightward pointing sore thumb.

Re: me coming in and correcting...
At your prompting, I've been looking at your two IPs, Texas, as well as the lot in the Network Information Tool. Interestingly enough, there is no more East/West coast servers... all servers point to Chicago. Guess they've been moved. I pinged these servers, named accordingly, from the Network Information Tool's results (recently derived.) I've embellished the names a little for clarity, hoping that I guessed right..
216.107.254.194 - One of the updater servers US
216.107.240.3 - West Coast Server Farm
216.107.248.3 - East Coast Server Farm
216.107.249.131 - Login for US
206.127.153.135 - boards.coh.com (guessin' these here forums...)
206.127.153.137 - www.coh.com, Website
These all wind up in France, btw, I checked them to be sure.:
206.127.144.229 - Login for EU
206.127.144.132 - European Server Farm... which actually answers it's ping, if you can believe that...
There's a slew of others. Anyway, the Ping Plotter is faster than tracert, and has a cool graph on the side, which allows one to visually see a spikey server. Like those EU servers above, which triple the ping times, and the graph gets shoved to the right.
Hope that helps in some way.

Interesting.
I referenced you looking at it in my earlier post since I got the IP information from the READ THIS! link in your signature.
Guess I'll have to try out the pingplotter and see if it will run on my ISP's network or if they have it crippled like they do tracert.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

System Restore to a date before the trouble started. Problem solved, right?
Not necessarily.

Well, I did a net/graph 1 this morning, down to 545 ping on Virtue, 345 on Guardian, and 450 on Pinnacle. I did get a message from CoH saying that they have been having a problem with that one with others.
EDIT:Carlos from Technical Support is helping me atm. (per email)
Cox (My internet provider) Says they can't do anything on their side, because it's not one of thiers? I dunno.
So i can't play the game until Saturday afternoon, which I have something big planned in the game, so lets hope it works then.
I did do a pingplotter, and it's still that one that is spiking up that high. Only one.
Sad, actually, them Comcast people. They pretty much can control where the traffic goes, and can alert the downstream people their server is borked. You just have to be adamant and get smarter than them... and also go up a tier. It's not tier one support that can do that, it has to go 2 or 3 before it'll get taken care of.
You won't be able to contact the other ISP they'll just blow you off. Only your ISP can fix downstream problems because they have the weight to do it.
There is (was?) an old thread about a guy in Alaska that had to do it... and he did. It was a similar (IIRC, exactly the same) issue to yours and ONLY the PingPlotter graphs showed the ISPs the problem and made them fix it. Took him about a month of arguing, but it did happen. He also had Cryptic (at the time) helping him prove his case. So they can do it. Question is... how married are you to Comcast, because it may be easier to move to somebody else, depending on how stubborn they are, and how stick-to-it you are to counter.

Eh. Lets just hope something can get worked out.
Just went to Best Buy with dad, and I asked the Geek Squad about it. Well, I'm not the only one in this area they said. They had about 10 other people coming in saying that it's happening to them as well. They don't have a solution, cause they don't work with the internet, but they think it's the area I live in now. They've called around and no other "Geek Squad Cave" is getting any reports of it. My internet provider now knows about it. *smiles* Maybe it's just a local connection changing the route on us in this area.
Anyways, thanks for all the help. I'm pretty sure it'll get fixed sooner rather than later... hopefully.
houtex, it's Cox internet, not Comcast. 2 different companies.
To the OP:
Keep calling your Cox Internet's Technical Support. Ask to be escalated up a tier if the technician you are speaking to says there isn't anything they can do since it isn't on their end. houtex is right in that Cox Internet can wield a lot of weight in pressuring whoever it is to get the problem fixed.
If they refuse to transfer you to a higher tier, ask for a supervisor, calmly explain the situation and that these are the instructions you've been given by several computer techs and network techs and again ask that you be escalated to a higher tier.
Persistence will pay off, but be sure to stay polite. I know it is difficult at times when you are dealing with people without a clue, which is sadly what most ISP's tier 1 support consists of.

Oops. I woulda swore I read 'Comcast' in there. Oh well.
For the record, I have Comcast, and you can pry my cable modem from my cold dead hands. But I'd rather you didn't. 'Cause then I'd be dead. I'm not done yet... I think...

They say eyesight is the second thing to go.
The first thing is ... hmmm ... I know they told me what it is, I just can't seem to remember it.
Ah well, must not be too important.

Cool cool. Thanks for the help guys, Cox said that they'll try to work me around the bad spot. Lets see if they do.
Christopher from tech support (City of heroes) is now the one on my case, and asked for more specifics. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine soon.
Glad to hear you are getting some assistance on the ISP and CoH side both.
Sorry it will take them a bit to get it straightened out. Unfortunately, when it's something not under their direct control, it takes a bit longer.
The good thing is both are willing to work from their respective ends to bring their weight to bear in getting things fixed to help resolve your problems.

Glad to say, my problem is fixed.
Thanks to CoH and all the support crew that helped ^^
Cox Cable fixed around 5 boxes in my area that they said were malfunctioning (in their own right) and wired me around two bad places they saw on my IP. I'm actually going faster than ever in the game, can access all the servers again.
Thanks to all you guys (and gals) for helping me along. Only took 4 days for it to all be sorted out.
Have them run a trace route to those East coast server IP's. They'll see where the problems are occurring.
Actually, you can run the tracert yourself if your ISP hasn't blocked them. Mine does which really irritates me as it removes a valuable troubleshooting tool.
Anyway, follow these steps:
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run
3. Type cmd and hit the Enter key on the keyboard.
4. At the DOS prompt that opens, type "tracert 216.107.248.3" without the quotes and hit the Enter key on the keyboard.
5. Watch the results and see where it either stops responding or takes a realllllly long time between hops.
Repeat Step 4 above but this time type "tracert 216.107.248.3" again without the quotes.
Repeat Step 5.
I would repeat it again using the 206.127.144.229 address and the 206.127.144.229 address, unless houtex comes in and corrects me.
If you can do this yourself, try flushing the dns cache using these steps:
1. Steps 1-3 above.
2. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes and hit the Enter key.
Once you have seen where it is hanging, you can contact your ISP and they may be willing to work with you in contacting the ... hmmm .... offending party (not sure how to phrase that) and get whatever the problem is corrected.
Be sure to update your support ticket with the same information so that the CoH support staff can work from their end to try to get the problem resolved.
