AR/Dev Blaster destroying people in pvp?

The first blaster i ever played on this game was a AR/Dev Blaster,i did rather well vs villians when the old Defiance granted obseen damage, but i pretty much tossed that account and blaster after they changed it.

Latly iv seen a few blasters running around on Freedom that are AR/Dev Blasters, and iv watched them totally destroy Stalkers,Brutes,Dominators, and Corrs.iv even seen a AR/Dev chase down and destroy a couple VEATs.

Whats making them so powerful vs other blasters? Is it the Stealth from the /Dev set? Some Stalkers cant even see them.Did they get a Stealth IO that allows them to hide from most players?even Stalkers?

Im curious how they are so strong, and how they are destroying Stalkers especially,is it the Trops?Becuase if this build is now viable again,i may make it again.

Anyone seen what im talking about?

+ Perception to see everyone
+ Stealth from Proc, Stealth, and Cloaking.

Just FYI, stealth and cloaking device don't stack. Turning on one, turns off the other, though both will work with a stealth IO.

I don't PvP at all anymore, but I doubt AR/Dev blasters are destroying anyone. Lack of aim and build up is a problem in PvE and PvP.

Wasn't going to go there but this. AR has a lack of single target attacks, and Devs big powers for PVP are targeting drone, caltrops and web grenade. If an AR/DEV is destroying people in zones its probably badgers that are looking to accumulate time badges.

awww don't say things like that I just got my ar/dev to 39 I'm having a blast with it so far, the lack of damage build up is somewhat annoying watching others with like archery/mind or archery/energy unload enough damage with RoA to drop lieus where I'm only damaging them to 1/3rd of their health when hitting red insps but there's a lot more utility I think with a /dev then anything else.

Time bomb I never see anyone use, and I use it religiously everytime it comes up. It will do 4-500 damage easy you just gotta time it right and place it right, and have a group thats smart enough to relize hmmm mines on the ground maybe I should pull mobs onto it instead of running forward. I've stacked a time bomb with a couple of trip mines, and pulled a mob onto it all at the same time and wiped em in one pass, now granted that doesn't really effect or be come terribly useful in pvp but in pve ar/dev can be devastating, just gotta play smart.

anxious to get the LRM

I love /Dev but its just such a solo powerset.

If you really want to have some fun with a /Dev the respec trials are great as are the crotoa arcs. There are a couple were you have streams of enemies trying to destroy an object. You just set up a minefield and laugh.

When it comes to PvP /Dev can be fun (usually in a PvP zone like RV), but at the same time it can be a pain.

It's fun in that if you have time to set things up, or are on a team in a PvP that will buy you the time you need to set things up, you can lure people into huge stacks of mines and caltrops (I personally love setting these up in pill boxes, so when people think they are about to capture one, they end up loosing the bulk of their life).

It's a pain in that it does take a good chunk of time to set things up (possibly leaving you vulnerable as you do), and luring enemies into your traps if done wrong can really easily get you killed.

Just some food for thought.

I used to PvP extensively with devices and what you describe was marginal pre-issue 13 (when squishies didn't have innate resistance). Your tactics would be a complete waste of time now. In the same amount of time, you'd be better off firing off your blasts.
