What about humans who are tormented because they look like hellspawn?? It's not easy growing up looking like the spawn of Satan when you're really as human as the next guy... Assuming that human has horns, wings, a tail and glowing eyes. *sigh*
Still, Kaemgen's a bit touchy about the subject so I'm not quite sure he'd join a group with this theme... But then again, he does like to torment himself...

Good to see Dauntless are still active. I don't have any characters appropriate for the group, but I wanted to wish you luck with your recruitment drive anyway 
(Well, that's a half-truth. I have my elven princess trapped in a magic longbow, but I don't play her enough to justify taking up an SG slot

Which would be "Summer is Icumen In". I remember the poem from HS English, but I also just recently finally saw the original version of "The Wicker Man" with Christopher Lee as Lord Summerisle. (Forget the Nicholas Cage version. Seriously) The 1970's version is a really unusual movie, and the scene at the end with the villagers all joining in for a rousing round of "Summer is Icumen In" is just wonderfully creepy.
As for possible submissions for the SG, we look for characters touched in any way by magic.
We sang it in high school a lot. I was not aware it was in the original Wicker Man, though I've always wanted to see it.

A little from column A, and a little from column B, actually.
I never did work out all the fine details since she literally began as a joke/play on my retired WoW (Blood Elf) Hunter, but the character is, essentially, Magical Girl meets High Fantasy Kheldian.
The elf's spirit/soul/whatever you want to call it was shattered long ago and trapped inside a simple longbow, intended as an ironic/cruel end. The bow passed into relative indignity for generations, completely forgotten until it came into the hands of the daughter of a couple of MAGI agents.
The spirit, sensing a kindred connection with the girl (Latent magical ability) offered to merge their souls in times of stress or battle in exchange for a chance to shape the events of the world again.
... Though I haven't quite worked out how an elf came to exist in Earth Prime just yet. Normally I don't deal in high fantasy in the CoHVerse, but she was an exception
Every time I think about cannibalizing her SOs/IOs for another alt, I take her out for a spin, Stunning Shot -> Bonesmasher a red/purple boss, and manage to *just* convince myself I might play her again at some point.
I also need to redo her costumes, badly. The sci pack will help that a *lot* because her "elf" form is supposed to be much taller than her human form Anyway, I'm hoping that all made as much sense in text as it did In my head, but I'm posting Before Coffee, so no promises.
Edit: And I just had to remind myself why I don't play her much. Blasters are just waaay too squishy for me (Archery/Energy). My only 50 is a Dark/Regen scrapper who, when all goes well, is the epitome of safe. I've never really hit that "Don't freaking die" stride with Kal. Buildup+Aim+Fistfull+Explosive just results in half-dead, very angry spawns >_>

Summer is icumen in, and in the month of July the Dauntless Reverie is once again opening the doors for our Summer Recruiting cycle.
The Dauntless Reverie is a RP Supergroup comprised of heroes whose lives have been touched by magic. They are multitudes: creatures of legend, descendants of the divine, visitors from fantastic worlds, tormented hellspawn, and students of the arcane. But they are all Dauntless: mystic heroes thrust into an urban setting.
If you have an alt who has been touched in some way by magic, are an active RPer, and would like to join a RP Supergroup with a magical theme, then check out our website: www.dauntlessreverie.com . If you like what you see, you can register as a site-user and once thats been approved, you can then log-in, choose the Submit Character option on the home-page, and fill out and submit your character application any time during the month of July.
Applications should contain a brief description of the character, any background info you wish to share, and the IC reason why your character is seeking to join.
Our next seasonal (Autumnal) recruiting cycle following this will take place in October 2009.
