First, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Second, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

You can see that I run the game with minimum graphics. I'll post HijackThis next.
Ok, here is the HijackThis log. Never run that program before so let me know if this is what you need. I always have a minimum number of programs running at start-up and regularly clean the junk off of my system (using AdAware, Spybot,McAfee Virus, etc...)
Thanks in advance for your help!

One more thing... I live with my boyfriend and he is experiencing the exact same thing. Again, a bad Internet connection comes to mind but that's not the problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, no it really does sound like the problem. I don't know how you've determined it's not.
And that's not to say that your internet connection is specifically the issue... but it could be that, or it could be somewhere between you and the servers.
I'd be trying a one at a a time thing... meaning, pick a computer, and have it be the sole user of the internet, as directly as possible. Remove the router, if it's separate, from the situation, and re-diagnose.
You can also find a post or two regarding the use of Ping Plotter Freeware and the server IPs to see if you can find a bad server between you and the game servers.
You might also try taking out or turning off McAfee completely.
And I dunno what's going on with these...

But all those blank ones are, near as I remember, not right, and may be causing you that black updater issue.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
Minor update on updater's lack of update:
I double-checked my firewall settings in both McAfee and Windows. McAfee has 2 listings each for CoH.exe and CoHUpdater.exe. 1 of each is old (around original install date) and 1 of each is within the past few days. I changed them all to "Full Access" (1 or 2 of them said"Outbound Access Only") but the older CoHUpdater keeps reverting to Outbound Access Only. Weird, huh? Anyhow, it didn't allow me to connect to the udater.
So I disabled all start-up services (including McAfee) and rebooted. No luck.
Strange thing with Windows Firewall: I noticed that CoH.exe WAS listed as an exception (granting it access and so forth) but CoHUpdater WAS NOT. So I added it to the exception list. I experienced the same problem when I try to connect from the desktop shortcut BUT NOW when I try to connect from the CoH file I get the ol' "This program cannot display the webpage..." message.
Why would the shortcut at least TRY to connect to the game but the file itself acts like there's no internet connection?
Now I'm just more confused than ever.
By the way, I should not have started a second post with my problem (forum noob). If my 2 posts can be consolidated to make my plight easier to understand, please feel free.
Thanks again for any insight.
Hi all. First post ever so bear with me.
My problem started yesterday morning so I assume it's related to i15. When I start the program (from my desktop or the Start Menu) the CoH Updater screen comes up and says "Connecting #1" for about 2 seconds before it says "Checking Updater". Then nothing happens. I've tried it 100 times and nothing. I left it up for 2 hours... nothing. I've rebooted system and checked Windows Firewall setting... nothing. Also, Internet connection is fine (hence me being able to post here).
The graphics that usually load on the Updater screen are not there; the screen is black except for the bottom where it says "Checking Updater" and a progress bar that isn't moving. It also says 0B/0B, 0B/sec, and 0:00 remaining. So I feel safe in assuming nothing is happening.
I don't know if it's relevant, but I've noticed when I start the game from the CoH folder , I DO get the graphics, though everything else is the same as above.
I checked the program file to make sure it ends with ".exe" and it does. (I saw to check that in a post somewhere.)
That's about it. The game worked fine on this computer Sun night (the night before it stopped working). Like I said, it must be related to i15.
One more thing... I live with my boyfriend and he is experiencing the exact same thing. Again, a bad Internet connection comes to mind but that's not the problem. The only difference is that my computer is older than his and I use Windows XP. He has Vista.
Any help would be great! Reading other posts about i15 is like salt in the wound. I want to play too!
