Loading time vs hardware
If you're just talking about zone load times, then RAM is what you're after.

Hmm, thought so. I just thought aside from RAMs, there might have been other factors in the loading (Like the processor). I know graphic card definitely improves the game play since it offsets the load on the main CPU. Ah well. Thanks Aett Thorn.

Well, there are definitely many factors involved. If you want a better answer, the guys and gals up in the Technical Issues and Bugs forums are great with helping people figure out what needs to be upgraded.
Just be prepared to give them some more details then what you put here.

Seconded. More RAM significantly decreased my zone load times.
From 512kB to 1.2GB to 2GB under XP. Significant improvement.
EDIT: I've heard 2GB for XP, 4GB for Vista for good performance.
Also, turning off other applications while running helps too.

Got it. Have 2 GB of RAMs on the main gaming computer I usually play on, however on my other computer is not much for gaming but it does have better processing power with slightly less RAM superiority (2.00 GB of RAMs, 2.02 GHz versus 1.74 GB of RAMs, 2.99 GHz x2) and if I do the renderthread command as well, it certainly loads much faster, which lead me to this post =) So thank you, Aett Thorn and Xalaqia for the awesome replies. I'll have to check out that section of the forums.

if I do the renderthread command as well
[/ QUOTE ] renderthread is enabled by default, and has been for quite some time. The command currently does nothing (unless for some reason you are using 0 to disable it)

Is it?
I know it was for a while, but then I also know (for a while, at least) it was disabled due to issues with task-swapping and ATI cards crashing while it was enabled.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Should be enabled by default now.
And it shouldn't really make much difference for loading times anyway.
Hello folks,
I was wondering exactly which hardware(s) affects the loading time? If you need more specific details, please let me know. Thanks!
(P.S. Apology for not replying to my previous post on Resilience if anybody remembers. )
