Spines / Fire or Dark Armors

Me and a Friend were thinking of running duo scrappers, mostly just for the sheer fun of it and he wanted to use something with a bit more power to it. So I figured outside of Broadsword, Spines was the next best thing for crowd clearing that he was looking for.

I was just wondering between Fire and Dark which one comes off better or more complete than the other. I've used Dark and I know its a solid set, but Fire seems to have alot of toys for just about any situation where as Dark is just lacking a end recovery tool. I guess I just looking for a opinion from the other scrappers in the community on why they choose the armor to go with Spines that they did.

Lastly since we'll both be running spines, just either or armor ( he'll be taking whatever I don't pick ) I guess its safe to assume they'll be powerhouses on teams?

Two scrappers, each dark running oppressive gloom makes most content a joke.

Well for starters, Spines isn't the next best thing for clearing crowds, it's the best thing for clearing crowds.

I would actually advise both of you to run Spines/Dark.

For one reason: If both of you are in melee range of a spawn Oppressive Gloom will stack to stun EVERYTHING. It takes mag 4 to affect a boss, combined Oppressive Glooms hits exactly mag 4 (each is mag 2, which only affects minions) Everything will be stunned, which will DRASTICALLY reduce your incoming damage. And the AoE the two of you will be putting out, when combined, will mow through crowds with ease.

Curious - what is the overall end cost diff between spines/fire and spines/dark?

DR drains so much end it's ridiculous compared to healing flames, not to mention fire does more damage compared to death shroud. Hmm...

Pre 28, Spines/fire is a better pair than Spines/Da.
But post 28, if ya take COF, Spines/Da pulls ahead and stays ahead. OG just makes it better.

The wife and I have a pair of Spines/fires, and we work very well together.... and thats the real point. You need to work together, like you are one toon.
A pair of Spines/Da's should(w/cof&og) mow through content
faster than the wife and I can.

Go with what matches your/his concept.

FA has greater damage where DA has greater survival through mitigation with more cost to end and this is very evident in the heals. However, end reduction and the chance for end proc IO from Theft of Essence can make Dark Regen into an endurance gain tool. The end cost in Dark Regeneration really is a non-issue imo.

Slap a Panacea chance for +hp/+end into Dark Regeneration

It will turn your /Dark Scrapper into a non stop machine. Need end? Use Dark Regen.... Need health? Use Dark Regen.

There is a reason they sell for 400mil, they are that good in a power like Dark Regen

That reminds me. Did they ever fix performance shifter +end when used in power sync?
