I recently got the accolade and it says it will follow you but I havn't got it to do much. It moved about a step then stopped. It was very hard to click on to make the inventions. Does this table move to follow you or am I reading it wrong on what it does? Thanks.

It's not supposed to follow you. I know for a while there was a bug where the graphic you could see would stay still, but the clickable target (invisible) would follow you; don't know if they fixed that.

Other way around. The graphic follows, but the intractable part invisibly stays where it was. Still broken, there attempt to fix it only broke it worse (The table wouldn't appear at all, but the power would be spent!)

I believe this is the correct answer.^^^

Considering what it does, I wish they would just lower the recharge time to something akin to the O-Portal. :/

So you are saying the graphic IS supposed to follow you? How do you get it to move? The few times I tried, like I said, I ran off and watched it and it moved what be equivalent to 2 toon steps and then stopped. I guess if the clicky part stays where it is, you wouldn't want it move around and follow unless you knew the exact spot to click the invisible interaction hand thing. Thanks for the infos.

They should just edit "It will follow you and your team mates...." out.

As others said above, the graphic is broke. I've never seen it 'follow' me like a proper pet, but I have activated it in WWs, crafted a couple of things on it, then run to the SG base portal and noticed it appear right beside me. But I can't click on it when it does that.

Basically, If I want to use it, I summon it and stay still until I've done all the crafting I need to do with it, or until it explodes. I figure once I move, it's essentially a ghost that I can't use.

You need to slot it with a flight speed IO for it to follow you. Personally I like to slot mine with with a knockdown proc because it's funny to watch players get knocked down every time I craft an enhancement.

LMAO! that is a great idea.

Ok, an update ...I tried again last night and the graphic of the table DOES move and follow you. It doesn't move like a pet but if you get far enough away it "jumps" toward you in the path you moved. I just never got far enough away the first time. I was at the university in Founders and went all the way to the plaza and it sort of ported into the plaza but it wasn't near me, I just saw it in the distance. I moved away more and it did the same thing. I flew all the way back to the University and it ported back to within a few steps of where I summoned it. The clicky was still invisible but I knew where I summoned it and that invisible interaction was still in that same spot. So, thanks to everyone for helping me understand how it worked and that it is still not functioning as it was intended.

I don't believe it is supposed to follow. It's coded like a pet, but is meant to be stationary. There's a conflict somewhere. It will suddenly appear from where it was to next to wherever you are standing about every 10 seconds.

Can you cast ally buffs on the workbench?

Could a solo Sonic Defender, for example, cast Disruption Field on their workbench when they fight a boss?

Must try this in Wentworths next tiem I get the chance...

No. At least, not anymore. That's why they made the changes to it that sort of broke it in the end. Folks were using it to draw aggro and stuff. Now it can't be targeted, yeah...but it also acts really weird.

while we are on the subject of the pwb... what do you do with it once you actually get it? I am working on getting mine now... only because it is there... but I mean by the time you make the 500 enhancements to get it I am at a lost to its real purpose...
I can build in base
Univ right next to WW
It only works for 5 min an hour
Most of the things it makes I dont use anymore

Can someone tell me what this thing does that I am missing?

Convenience, mostly. Or 'inconvenience' given how annoying it is. I summon mine in the CH itself, and it saves travel time.

If I'm crafting and selling IOs, for example, it's a substantial time saver.

I log the toon in (in WWs)
Collect my inf for sold IOs.
Grab my purchased Salvage and/or recipes
Summon Portable Workbench
Craft more IOs, put them directly on the market
Place bids for more salvage and/or recipes
Log out.

The whole thing takes less than 5 minutes. Even working in Steel Canyon, with the University close at hand, the shuttle back and forth to the market adds a considerable chunk of time to that 5 minutes, especially when it means two or three trips. Running to my SG base takes even longer. If I want to craft in KR or somewhere else where it isn't crowded, the table can cut my crafting time in half. That matters when I'm cycling through several toons, and what I really want to do is get on to whichever toon I'm actually -playing- instead of just marketeering with.

Yup, time saver. Also useful if you're in your SG base and there are a bunch of people crowded around the enhancement tables and racks. Just set up your portable workbench across the room and voila.

heres been my experience.

in a mission- right before starting, I state: I have a table, does anyone need to craft?

Often I get, yes, I do, yes, please , and my favorite , oh memememememe!

the table is also alot of fun to sit on and change to the burned costume once it explodes.

I'm about 400 inventions away from my table, can't wait!

Yes, I have all the badges except the "craft 1000 IO's" one, bugger ;-)
