Ok so how do you solo avs?
I have solo'd all the dev AE AV's with my ninja Dark. I went through them with ease. I guess it depends on the build.
Bot/FF doesn't really have the tools to solo AV's. You really need more -regen. I say more because the assault bot does have some, but very little.
I'd imagine it's possible to do with some uberslotting, but I'm a 43 bot/ff (only common IO'd) and I don't think I could take down an AV. I know I could survive because my bots are defense capped and then some (+prot bot heals and repair), but I can't put out enough damage to account for the AV regen. I'm thinking about picking up assault from the leadership pool, but I just don't know if it's worth it.
Where to now?

See someone told me that bot/ff could solo avs easily and even gms so I'm pretty confused.

It is worth it. I picked up the whole leadership powerpool. Well worth it
So there has to be something i'm doing wrong. I mean I got the guy down to 50 percent but when he at last hits and one shots my assault bot the [censored] hits the fan.
well there is a difference between AE AV and TF AV
AE AV you never know what stupid combination the creator decided to use. Some AV are near impossible to kill even with a full team of 8.
for normal TF AV, then you should be able to solo them but not without carefull preparation and a very strong build. I have a bot/FF at lvl 49 and I have not been able to do it myself so maybe someone else can give you more pointer.
well it was a ae i made. I just picked a random AV and tossed it in lol.
The best Mastermind, heck the best AT period for soloing avs/heroes is Bots/Traps. Since level 24 I've soloed 7 avs out of 10, and soloed Aurora Borealis and Barracuda twice.
I could have probably soloed sarafina if I wanted to take a half hour or more to do it, but her KB anoyed me so I just changed the diff and swatted her like a fly.

I'm pretty sure BOTS/FF can do it I just got to figure out how.
if you want a MM that can solo GMs u want a necro/dark
so you guys are telling me Bot/FF can't do it?
Do you have 2 billion influence to dump into purpling out your build?
If not, consider rolling thugs/poison.

FF is great for protection but offers nothing in debuffing, holding, slowing and imobilizing the av. With dark, posion you get good heals, slows, hold, -dmg and acc and debuffs. With traps you get a hold, a slow, an imobilize, heals, debuffs to regen, defense and accuracy/dmg.
My thugs/posion has soloed one av, haven't had much luck since it uses a large ammount of end and is very click heavy, single target.
Traps is a murder fest of aoe debuffs and dmg.

You can, but not nearly as easily as if you were /Traps. You have no debuffs other than the minor -regen in the Assault Bot's plasma blasts so you're going to need to rely on raw damage. That means the fight is going to go on for a while, so you need very solid defenses and good endurance management. It also means some AVs will be impossible... namely anything with enhanced regen / heals that you can't outdamage.
The first thing you'll want is a way to immobilize the AV. To get max damage from Bots you have to keep things in the Assault Bot burn patch, and you certainly don't want the AV running away to heal. That means taking your patron immobilize power and slotting the heck out of it... you need to be able to keep it stacked so I'd suggest frankenslotting it for max duration and recharge plus good accuracy and endurance. You'll be spamming it a lot so the endurance is important.
Next you need to keep the pets alive. Since AVs tend to squash pets like bugs that means you are probably going to want Provoke or Challenge. That way you can tank him yourself and let Bodyguard protect you, instead of relying on pet defense. Sure the pets are softcapped, but when the AV can one-shot them that doesn't help as much as you'd think. You're the only one tough enough (in Bodyguard) to take two hits in a row, and a single hit may kill the weaker bots.
That bring us to the next item: keeping yourself alive. Bodyguard helps, but you need healing and good defenses. AVs hit hard. You'll want to be softcapped yourself, or at least close to it, for Ranged defense. Good AoE defense also helps. Melee you can ignore, since the AV is going to be immobilized. The Blood Mandate set is a great source of ranged and AoE defense, and you'll want other defense bonuses too. Maneuvers can help too, and Leadership powers are always handy for MMs since the boost the pets. Assault will shorten the fight so that's also useful. And you'll want healing... Aid Self for yourself, and Aid Other for the pets. Ideally the Protectors will handle the pet healing, but you will probably need to help them at some point. Those heals are interruptible, so that's another reason to softcap your own defense.
Finally, you need to be able to keep up your taunts, immobilizes, and heals indefinitely along with any toggles you run (like dispersion Bubble and Leadership toggles). Ideally you'll want enough recovery that your blue bar never drops, no matter how long you fight. More realistically, you'll want a few large blue inspirations and enough recovery that you only need to use one every few minutes.
If you get all that, you should be able to solo at least some AVs. Or... reroll as Bots/Traps and solo some of the same AVs with only SOs slotted. Your choice...

bots isnt so hot against an av unless you pair it with a secondary that can debuff a lot. why you may ask?
not so great single target damage and nearly every bot attack and ability has a long recharge compared to every other primary but merc controls.
can it? yes. but it's not just av's that will drive you insane. widdershins and biff as an EB will make you want to punch a baby

They made me feel like that on a ninja/poison too. They couldn't kill my hench... But I had trouble with them even with debuffing regen.

Once you get to level 32 bots have incredible dps. Burn batch and missle swarm plus full auto lasers = dead av. But you still need to debuff their regen and defense.

yes i know this. ih ave two level 50 bots fully io'd out. they stil lhave the longest recharging attack chains of all the primaries and is why thugs WILL outdamage them on any lengthy fights even th ough they do mostly lethal damage.
but hey what the hell would i know right? i mean i've only got a thugs/traps guide from 07 that's still valid today. i'v eonly got 10 level 50 mm's 8 of them fully io'd out, 4 of them having done all the dev created content and have nothing left but AE and newspaper missions. clearly...CLEARLY..i never speak from post 32 or post 40 experience.

I remember reading that assault bot has 2 different blasts that each does around 1000% -regen or so.
Isn't that huge in an AV fight and wouldn't that make the little extra damage thugs do over time, not matter?
Not to mention the restists smashing/lethal gets vs engery damage. But I've only got two MMs in the 40s and four 50s of various ats so what do I know ?

Anyone solo without using their personal 3 shooties or a shootie from a patron set?

The AE AV would depend on the powerset. As someone stated, some are next to impossible if honestly built to assassinate players.
In general, though, I'm capable of solo'ing AVs with my Thug/PD MM. I rely heavily on the power pool taunt, then make sure I constantly avoid melee range, while sticking to the outskirts of BG mode. I frequent the patron immob usage, while applying buffs and keeping tabs on my pets who may catch stray damage.
From there, its pretty much a battle of attrition, where I'm usually the victor.

Got my [censored] handed to me.
I'm a bot/ff mm and was soloing boss aes ok and wanted to test myself and pretty much failed. So I have some questions for you all.
Does the pet sets enhance really make up for it? Like that 5 percent defense/resist auras?
Does the +damage and aura from other sets go to pets?
When the av hits it pretty much one shots my assault bot. Is this always the case?
Is there a enhance set that I can make pets do more damage? Like a proc or something?
Am i doing it wrong trying to make my bots tank? I saw personal force feild, and some skill that knocks them out of range aoe knockbacks and such but i stayed away from them. Maybe I should get them? Should I be the one to aggro tank them with bg mode?
