CoH won't recognize my PhysX card

[/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately, Coh is only programmed to take advantage of a very old version of PhysX using actual Aegia hardware. You can't enable the PhysX option in Coh while using only NVidia PhysX, and that's unlikely to change.
If you mean you have a second Aegia card also, then you might be able to get it to work by using a very old PhysX version, but I've heard the benefits are minimal on today's hardware. You might also have to go into the NVidia control panel and disable NVidia's PhysX in order for the dedicated card to work correctly. I'm not sure though.
Check this thread.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
If its an actual discrete PhysX card then you need earlier drivers, the newer ones don't work with this game, I forget which earlier version you need though but I would start with something from early 2008.
I've got the actual card. I guess I need to know version of drivers works and where I can find them.
I found the old 7.11.13 drivers and installed them. The game now recognizes the card BUT whenever I set it enabled in settings and apply, it just reverts back to being disabled. Kind of like the problem I have with my resolution changes not sticking unless I use tweakCOH, but that has no setting in it for Physx.

[/ QUOTE ] I've heard others complain about having to enable it every time as well. There might be a couple possible workarounds...
I don't know if this would work or not, but give it a try and let me know:
Add "-aegiaon 1" to your shortcut.
For example:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -aegiaon 1
-OR-
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -aegiaon 1
(I am basing this guess off the registry info, the actual function for this preference might be named something else, or not even available... and I don't have a PhysX card, so I can't even test it myself. If it works, that'd be a hell of a thing! lol) If it doesn't, maybe you could manually change your registry every time, or just have to deal with re-enabling it every time you start your client.
That just gives me an error message.

Well, it was worth a shot. lol
Are you familiar/comfortable with changing the registry manually?
If so, have you tried manually toggling that option before you start the client?
-OR- try putting the following into notepad and save it as cohphysx.reg
[ QUOTE ]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Coh]
"ageiaOn"="1"
[/ QUOTE ] Then execute the file right before you run CoX, or after the updater finishes but before you log in... whatever you find works (if anything).
(I take no responsibility for what you manually do to your registry. You are at your own risk. Don't attempt to do anything at all unless you are familiar with it, and/or know how to fix any errors you might create.)
