Joe, evidently, people aren't interested. Bumping doesn't change that. and when people DO look at this thread, they won't be impressed by your tactics.

Dude. I let your PM to me slide. That was your opinion. I disagreed but I respected it.

Now you are following my posts and crapping on one of them? Dude let it go.

If you don't like the arc or my tactics I am sorry. Just trying to get some traction and feedback.

So again, please let it go. We both have better things to do.....

Finding the reviewers who are active is probably the best way to start. It doesnt do a lot of a good to post requests in a reviewer thread when the reviewer hasn't done a review in over 5 months. So my advice would be to do a little research on which reviewers still review, which ones actually take submissions, what their criteria are, (whether they are a QPQ reviewer), etc.

Policewoman, for example, is an extremely thorough reviewer who works on a QPQ basis, but her queue is long and it will probably take awhile for her to reach your arc in her list.

Other reviewers may not require anything in return, but most of them have their own criteria for selecting which arcs to play. I know I did when I used to have my One A Day thread.

It typically helps if it seems like the person doing the request has done a bit of research on who he/she is asking to review their work though. Posting the same message in several different threads, some of which may have been completely inactive for a long period of time, is typically not the best way to approach trying to gain interest in your work because a reviewer doesn't want to feel like a number any more than an author does.

It's also a good idea to bump your own thread with content instead of just a 4Chanian "bump!"

Made some changes? Let us know about them.

Gotten some really good reviews in your comment section? Cut'n'paste 'em here (I think you're supposed to redact the poster's names though).

Won an award? Lett us know that you... oh, ok, you did that one.

I hate bumping my own thread(s) but if you feel you have to (I've been there myself :P), then do it with something real. Make sense?

Both are very good advice ... and I'd like to especially stress agreement with Sister Twelve's advice that (1) the best place here to solicit feedback is in the thread of an active reviewer who is taking requests, and (2) you should look like you've at least done a little bit of homework on the person you are requesting from, rather than appearing as though you've copy-pasted one request into every thread you can find.

Take mine as a case-in-point: at the beginning of every one of my recent posts that has a review, in bold, is a statement that I'm closed to submissions (and why). Police Woman's request at least hinted that she was at least aware of that but wanted to see if I was open to adding one last short arc. Yours struck me as a perfect copy of similar posts in other threads where the only thing you read was the subject line of the thread. One approach treats me like a person (insofar as any cold forum thread can), one approach treats me like a warm body whose only purpose is to rake up rates and plays. Guess which one I'm most likely to make an exception for? But there's another good reason to research the reviewer:

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that (unknown to the player) your end boss, is say, a cold/fire EB (it probably isn't, but just for the sake of argument) ... it might not be wise to ask for a review from someone where the thread makes it clear that all of their reviews are played by a fire/fire scrapper. It'd be a little like me building an arc that features custom mobs with psi attacks and the invulnerability set, with extreme bosses and EBs, and then posting in Eva Destruction's "Dawn Razor" thread requesting she play and review it (yes, I know, there hasn't been activity there for quite some time, but it makes for a good example) - there are at least two reasons she would probably loathe the arc, and one where she would flat out refuse to play it. Or building a two-mission arc that features Time Travel and Nemesis, and then asking Venture to review it (three aspects to the arc there that would make that an unwise thing to do; really four if you count the fact Venture doesn't accept review requests any more).

My point? It really does help to do your homework...

M.A. Arcs
Intended for high level play: The Primus Trilogy (Arc #s 10931, 283821, 283825), "Freakshow U" (Arc #189073), Purification (Arc #352381, Dev's Choice! )
Intended for low level play: "Learning the Ropes" (Arc #100304), "Cracking Skulls" (Arc #115935), "The Lazarus Project" (Arc #124906)

Those are good points.

I know it looked like I was ramdomly 'bumping' for no reason but I only do it when I have made updates changes in the arc.

In hindsight I guess it would make sense if I disclosed that information.

Thanks for the feedback.
