PB human/dwarf build

Hey guys, been working on a PB build but i haven't made one before. I'm completely skipping nova in favor of human/dwarf build, with the ultimate goal being a decent tank dwarf and a well rounded blaster substitute PB. Here's the theoretical end build, if anyone has any suggestions on what i should do different, I'd really appreciate it. Its just slot placement at the moment.

I apologize I really only have questions instead of advice. I was wondering why you took Quatum Shield over Thermal Shield? Incandesence gives you Energy/Negative energy resistance though it is only half of what you would get from Quatum Shield. However if you take that out and put Thermal Shield in its place you would have at least some resistance for all forms of damage between your two shields and Incandesence.

Also why take Gleaming Bolt at 49 and Pulsar at 47? By that time you get to those powers you would have already have an attack chain in place that would function without them. Maybe try to work Pulsar earlier into the build?

I'll be honest i picked those two last because i don't really know what else to pick at that point. If I was going for extreme damage res in human form i guess i could work in toughness. I can work Pulsar in earlier as well, i just didn't know how it is in practice. After all Proton scatter looks fine on paper but people tell me time and again its worthless. As for picking quantum over thermal, i guess i just find myself wondering when I'm fighting guys who specifically do fire or ice damage, it doesn't seem to come up often. I can consider picking it though. One of my biggest concerns is that im not putting enough slots into important powers, or that maybe i'm putting too many slots into dwarf form.

Circle of Thorns has both fire and ice damage. I don't know how often you'll be fighting those, though they seem to pop up fairly often for me, all the way to 50. Carnival of Shadows has those one chicks who breathe fire. Crey has members who do fire and who do ice damage. A few of the Tsoo have fire or ice powers.

I can't think of any more off the top of my head. CoT seems the hardest to avoid to me.

As for slots.. well I'm no build expert but here's a few thoughts. Quantum Flight? Way overslotted. It recharges in a minute naturally and while it eats endurance, I'm assuming you'd use it to run away and, once safe, could eat some inspirations or take a rest. I'd suggest taking those extra slots off and putting them in some attacks. I don't see any reason why Gleaming Blast should get more slots devoted to it than radiant or incandescent strike unless there's a specific set bonus in ranged single target you're going for that you can't get with a melee set.

Similarly, Restore Essence. Do you really need 3 slots there? It can take sets but the 3 bonuses are fairly weak. I haven't gotten high enough to try it (new to Khelds) so YMMV, but in mids it doesn't seem to enhance the heal any with enhancements in it, and doesn't take end mods to help with that. I'd try one slotting it with recharge and putting those two extra slots in either dwarf form or human attacks, depending on which you want to spend more time in. There are some excellent recharge bonuses when 5-slotting some attack sets, and recharge is very useful.

You might look at reform essence and glowing touch. Touch slotted with heal IOs, you heal basically 35% with glowing touch, but are you really going to be playing healer? If you're solo reform essence is going to be much more handy, able to heal yourself for more (if not as quick). If you're on a team, I'd hope you had a dedicated healer and you could just afford to throw out patch heals if you really wanted to. It's up to you, but if it were me I'd steal those slots from glowing touch to put on dwarf attack powers or even add to essence boost, reform essence, or any human attack power.

Also if you've gone 49 levels without gleaming bolt.. skip it. Photon seekers might be a good replacement. I'm not sure which does more dps, probably bolt.. your attacks should be fairly full without the need for bolt and seekers might help when you absolutely need to kill something quickly.

Just my thoughts. I'm new at this so take it with a handful of salt.

My PB is Human/Dwarf as well, and I really like how it is. There's lots of odd power choices and odd slotting decisions in your build, IMO. I'll just comment on some of the major ones:

Underslotted Attacks - All of them, really. The only ones you 4 slotted were Gleaming Blast and Solar Flare. Good that you prioritized the better ones, but yikes for the rest. Attacks that you intend to use: 5+ slots, no questions. Get them properly outfitted with DMG to make them worthwhile.

Overslotted Mehs - Conserve Power, Light Form, Restore Essence, Quantum Flight, Glowing Touch, Human Shields. Most of those slots are somewhat of a waste. Stick with just the default in CP, RE, QF and GT. 3 out LF if you wish. Shields are iffy since this is a Human/Dwarf. Personally I say use only one of two extra slots and have the power be an IO mule.

Power Scheduling - Solar Flare in particular. It's one of your key Human powers, KB notwithstanding. Restore Essence is also picked up much earlier than is really necessary. Consider even dropping it in favor of Photon Seekers (one of your strongest available attacks). Reform Essence is also picked up very late. That's an exceptionally good self heal. Think about getting it sooner rather than later.

Maybe try something like this?

I don't see the utility of taking Hurdle at 50 and skipping hasten entirely. Some people hate hasten but even so, I'd choose stealth over hurdle at 50. Or put hurdle instead of swift and still take stealth at 50.

Hurdle at 49 mostly because it's a throw away power. There's nothing, at that point in the game, that would add much at all to a build. So I put in whatever can live off on no slots.

You can, of course, sub in anything you like.

Yeah, some of my favorite powers for Khelds are the ones that don't require addition slotting. T__T

yeah once again, i know the last two powers are very odd choices. I only picked those at that point because, really, i didn't have any other really viable options. As for reform essence and restore essence, to be honest i accidentally reversed the order i'd actually pick those in the build (damn similar names). I do plan on adding more slots to my attack powers, although i dont think light form is over slotted. Overall I'll focus more on the human attack powers then, that should give me more decent dps. Thanks for the tips guys. Oh, on a final note, i keep hearing mixed things, is pulsar useful or not?

It can be.

BUT... it's got a long cast time, low ACC and is PBAoE. So it's a gamble if you try to use it in the middle of a big spawn. Personally, I took it just to carry the Stupefy set (for the +Rech).

Alright, i've got a revised build here. I think its better overall, although a ton of people are probably gonna have problems with the number of slots i gave photon seekers (or the fact that i even took photon seekers). I'm willing to shift those slots around, or even replace the move with another. Any suggested alterations or am I in the proverbial clear for my original goal of making a human/dwarf blapper/tanker?
