So, I don't have an iPhone 3G, but I have an iPod Touch. I tried several times yesterday to upgrade, but finally, late last night before the severe thunderstorms knocked out my Intarwebz, I was able to buy & download iPhone OS 3 for my iPod Touch.
Can't decide whether you should buy an Apple iPhone 3GS or another phone? This might help.

yea i tried to warn ppl a few pages back how crazy it would be trying to update to 3.0, it should get easier within a week. tomorrow is gonna be a [censored] storm of ppl calling in not knowing how to turn on their iphone 3gs. we always get those random ppl that buy an ipod or an iphone but fail to read the requirments on the box stating that it requires a computer and internet.
Having had a smart phone as part of my old AT&T job... most people really don't need that much phone. It's just a nice gadget to have

allright so i faked having car trouble today so i can hang around the house until my new 3gs gets here. then miraclously my car will be all better.
ok i ended up putting in a half day of work and my new iphone was in the box at the door, im just opening it now, brb.
omg i opened it and its charging, i love the "new cell phone scent" my old one doesnt have a smell anymore because the new scent faded off.

no its today, but it was funny apple at taken 46,000 calls for iphone support today by 2:30pm, they usually average about 10,000 on a friday for the whole day.
