This might be a dumb question, but what is the advantage of putting the two hami Enzymes in Protector Bots? Also, do you find that you use Repair often since you have Twilight Grasp? Thanks!

Tha Hamis boost the effectiveness of the Probots bubbles and reduce their end drain (something they're known for).

Repair is not used very much really. I like it for emergencies when a bot runs out of range of TG and gets into trouble. You could skip it imo.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression you couldn't lower a bot's end consumption, only the end cost in casting the bots. Do the hamis actually help the bots use less end?

I believe BG mode takes your damage and divides it equally among you and your 6 pets. Which with everyone in BG mode the damage you then take is 1/(1+pets) = 1/7 = roughly equivalent to 85% resistance.

When NOT fighting an EB or AV, Normally I only keep 3 pets in BG mode, and use the rest more directed. In this case the damage taken would be 1/(1+pets) = 1/4 = roughly 75% resistance.

NOTE: Your pets are absorbing the rest of that damage, and can as a result be killed. Pet resistance and Pet Defense does not effect this damage when it's applied to the pets.

When endurance reduction is slotted into a pet summon power, it reduces both the cost of summoning and the costs of the powers used by the summoned pet(s).

Excellent! I had no idea and I've had this toon since Villains came out. Where've I been? Blue-side, perhaps. Thanks for the info!

Ok...so I was looking on the Blackmarket at how much this build might cost to make. And lo and behold, there do not appear to be any of the required Hamis on the market at the moment. Not surprising considering I don't remember the last time I did a Hami raid in villains. Oh wait, that would be never.

So, is there a way to get an AV-Killer bots/dark MM without Hamis?

Of course. There are a number of enhancement strategies that should work. In fact, my thugs/dark soloed AVs with just SOs back in the day. But the strategies I used wouldn't work well for a Bots/Dark, and the changes to pet upgrade powers would make my old strategy very painful nowadays, anyhow.

Still, there should be more than one way to skin a cat.

That said, you may want to check a little further down in the list of special enhancements for the HOs you want; although the regular HOs are indeed quite rare since everybody chooses merits nowadays after a Hami raid, the SYNTHETIC versions of them are much more common. They're often chosen in lieu of merits after LRSF's.

That's the answer right there, and patience. I had to wait a fe days to get all mine. Don't be overly concerned with it either. Place your bids for both regular and synthetic and then go about your business. They're not required. Just a nice bonus. I was perfectly capable without them.

Masterminds really are an exceptional AT.

Good to hear. Thanks for your responses! I've had this MM since villains came out, and even though I thoroughly enjoyed him, I had spent more time tweaking main toons on Heroes. It is time for Villains to get the love.

I am thinking I will do two builds, this AV-Killer build and a more team-focused build. Not that being capable of killing an AV isn't team-focused, but currently my main bots/dark build has a selection of support powers like Vengeance and TP Friend--the latter of which never scared Statesman very much.
