Fire/Elec blaster question
No thoughts?
There is no End drain from fire; fire's secondary effect is more damage.
That said, it's the best sustained pure damage dealer bar none imo. Well ok its not THE BEST aoe you can get with Elec secondary but it probably is the best single target damage you can get and the AOE from fire alone, even without aoe in the secondary, is still murderous.
Elec fence is fine. Standard immobalize with ok damage early and always usefull since you can use it mezed.
What makes the combo so killer is really power sink giving just about unlimited endo combined with a pure ton of the fastest, hardest hitting attacks in the game.
This combo is my only 50 blaster so I might be biased
I guess what I meant to say is that fire is an END hog and having the elec secondary will help with that since you do have power sink. My only question is will elec fence have the same kind of "holding power" when slotted up as Chilblain would.
Endurance usage is proportional to damage.
So yeah, fire's an end hog...
Fire/Elec is a great combo. Plays a lot like Fire/Energy, but slightly different utilities. I prefer Power Sink to Conserve Power, and I haven't ever done much with Boost Range. (I have both Fire/Elec and Fire/Energy at level 50.) The melee damage is monstrous, the AOE is monstrous, it's just a generally brutal combo.
I don't really use a lot of immob. In the late game most badguys either die really fast, or have strong ranged attacks.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I just made one of these myself, with an eye towards gunning for the Ranged Soft Cap. It seems easily doable, and I'd imagine capricious amounts of Electric Fence will help out a ton in taking on EBs and AVs (there's that other thread on soloing AVs, where Chillblain is mentioned, and Electric Fence is essentially the same thing minus the -Rech and Slow components...right?).
Doc Steam is only level 9 right now, but on paper, he should be a tough cookie later on.
It's an insane combo. With a little bit of support (just a little bit) you will be a damage dealing monster.
Mine is currently only level 33, so I just got some slots in my nuke and don't have Power Sink or Shocking Grasp yet.
He's still a beast, even missing a couple powers.

My fire/elec was a beast from about level 8 on. I love it.

Dont see many fire/elec blaster builds around. Is this not an optimal powerset combo? You would be great at blapping and distance attacks plus the elec would help the END drain of fire. The elec fence on your teir 1, if properly slotted, seems to be about on par with Chilblain (dont have a ton of experience with Chilblain or elec fence so I may be/am probably wrong on this), then later you get some knockback powers for mitigation. Any thoughts on this...pros/cons?
