Influence Destruction Projects?
Fulmens, if you are doing this prestige for influence thing on infinity I'm good for 60 million. Might have to wait till Friday to actual hook up though, with work and commute I have a twelve hour work commitment four days a week, and second shift at that.

3.7 billion or so, and hitting a slow stretch.

I'm close to 2 billion destroyed- the prestige thing is WAY ahead of everything else.

True. I had 200M I didn't know what to do with last week, so I spent half of it buying prestige to add things I don't need to my otherwise fully functional private base. I didn't know you had a prestige matching program going on.

The economy is not broken. The players are
My two man base now has teleporters to all available zones. Thanks Fulmans! Would have taken us at least a month or so longer to get to that point were it not for the prestige matching thing.
So, have you noticed any of the effect that you were hoping for when you started this project?

Just give me all the money you want to waste and I will waste it all on WW for you.
Pretty sure that "wasting" in this context is not the same as "destroying". If you are using the influence to by stuff, then someone else is getting 90% of it to spend elsewhere. I believe that Fulmens is trying to create an influence sink, and reduce the total amount of influence in the game, not just pass it around.

Yes, and I am trying to IO my toons. Quit ruining it!
But seriously, yea I know what he's doing. I guess this will try to help the "inflation" that has happened over the years?
Quick estimate: 100,000 players, 2 hours a day. (More on weekends, less on weekdays.) Half of that on highbies, making a million inf an hour after taking into account time spent on base stuff and marketing and "LFT" and whatever.
I'm burning 1/10 of one day's worth of influence.
If you give me a shopping list, Bang, I'll buy em and make em and sell em to you, through Wents, for 10% under my cost. How's that?

I do not destroy influence but I do my part to try and lower prices by significant margins on crafted rare enhancements and uncommon enhancements. I also list all of my salvage for 1 influence all the time.

Dark/Shield Build Thread
This thread reminds me of a game of M*U*L*E I played once where I managed to get a monopoly on Energy. Problem was, although I could starve out the other players, I couldn't spend my loot when I did so - I had no-one to buy anything from.
BTW I'd love the prestige subsidy - I have four hundred million influence on Justice I have earmarked to convert to prestige.
Trouble is that I'm in Australia and play at non-peak times.
I'm trying to think of a way to destroy inf that involves you buying my M:+R20 that's listed for 2B :-) That toon has 1.75B at the moment (my richest toon). If you buy the item, and I collect it, 1.75B gets deleted through capping, but it has cost you 2B to do that, so its not even 1:1
My global is @Graal
The problem with "destroy through capping" is that you could cunningly put up a bid for two different level 53 recipes , for 1 billion and .75billion, and cancel it if you ever needed the money for any reason.
I mean, I'd end up with a Miracle that I could sell for 100 million... destroying ANOTHER 10 million in the process. But that's not much of an efficiency improvement.

How do your numbers look when you take into account people like me? I farmed about 3 billion Inf in the past month.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

There aren't any people like you, TopDoc.
More seriously, this is probably a power distribution and I don't know any of the constants.
90% of the people make X or less in a month.
9% of the people make X to 10X in a month.
.9% of the people make 10X to 100X in a month.
.09% of the people make 100X to 1000X in a month.
TopDoc, Smurphy and 8 other people make the rest.
Are you generating 100M of influence per day (or generic recipes, SO's, etc. that turn into influence)? Or are you making 100M of personal wealth, counting things that sell at the market ?
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

I am generating mostly PvP Recipes that I craft and sell on the Market for that 100M/day. Though granted prices have been dropping recently as more people get into the action.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

In that case, in the game-global sense, you're not generating inf, you're generating items.
Actually, since PvP farming doesn't generate any inf per item, the introduction of high-valued PvP IOs to the game should be a deflationary force on the rest of the economy.
And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines
Go TopDoc! Rip it up!

Actually each PvP Defeat of a level 50 by a level 50 earns you 973 Inf, plus you can also get Salvage, but you're still mostly right. Assuming a drop rate of 1%, the 97,300 Inf you get in defeats per PvP IO recipe is only about 1/5 the crafting cost. And the Salvage dropped per IO is not sufficient to craft it. While I usually have a surplus of Common Salvage that I sell, I have to buy a lot of Uncommon and Rare Salvage. I have to restock my farmer with Inf from my sales force.
From my point of view, I'm generating a lot of wealth. But from your point of view, I'm destroying Inf. I've destroyed hundreds of millions in Marketing fees by selling all of those IOs, and I'll destroy hundreds of millions again when I buy IOs to outfit my chars using that Inf. But I think that's a relatively small piece of the whole economy, and I doubt it will have a significant deflationary effect.
Looking at my old Drop Listing & Analysis thread, it seems like regular farming does produce more Inf than it uses in crafting and selling the good Recipes. I earned about 6.1M Inf per run between defeats and vendoring Common IO Recipes and Enhancements, plus more than enough Salvage to craft the 4 worthwhile Recipes. I even come out ahead when I take into account the Marketing fees associated with selling those IOs. Interesting that there's such a big difference.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

I just giggled like an 8 year old school girl. You on Champion?
I might have a level 2 ATM character on Champion... but if I build them on Victory (or whatever) and put them up for sale at a specific price, we can try to synchronize so you buy for that exact price. I don't know how much stuff we'll "lose" in shipping.

Well, you will be happy to know Fulmens that I seem to have joined your cause of infulence destruction unwillingly. Twice now in the last month, I've blown 100 mil or so on listing fees when pasting my sell value in twice
In other news, anyone wanna buy a lvl 45 recharge IO for 2 billion dollars?

I've seriously considered buying it these days.
Is there any way to paint the tape such as to increase the chance of typo bids? e.g. 1,900,002
That would destroy some inf.
Yup...thanks again Fulmens for matching 200 mil influence to prestige for me...that 800,000 prestige sure helps get my personal base up and running.
