Build Advice

This is my first post so please bear with me. I am looking for some advice on my Scrapper Build. I am about 2 weeks into the game so I can use the help. I've already started my Scrapper with DM/SD, on the count of it seems to be a powerful AV killer build. What I need help with is power choice, what I need and don't need. Any help would be very appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums!!!

Now DM/SD is a great AV solo but it does take a lot of money to make great. It is still a great and fun build without a lot of money too.

Some power you should take as soon as you can for DM are
Smite
Siphon Life
Soul Drain
Midnight Grasp
I would also take Shadow Maul and Shadow Punch early too so you can have a AoE attack and a ok attack chain.
Touch Of Fear is a good power but I don't like it and you can skip it.
Dark consumption is another good power but you do not need to get it at lvl 18 get it when you can fit it in to your build.

for Shield Defense
Actve defense is a must take at lvl 10!!!
Should have Battle Agillity no later then lvl 22, after you get stamina
The other powers take when you can fit them in you should have all but Grant Cover by lvl 30 you can wait for that power.

your final build should look very different to your leveling build,
Shadow Punch is needed early on, Wheras Grant Cover is skippable,
you'll want some or all of Hover, CJ, Weave and Maneuvers on the way up, but will be able to be pickier with your final build.

Don't expect much in terms of survivability early on, so focus on Attacks first (Smite is AWESOME early on)
And make sure you balance Siphon Life between Healing and Damage, so you can skip Aid Self and still recover from those "lucky" hits.

Maeanwhile, for the finished builds have a look at some of the guides on here, there have been some very tasty builds posted.

And Good luck

What the other two said.

Since you're gonna need a [censored] ton of influence to get a high end build, I suggest reading some of the guides and threads from The Market Forum.

And welcome to the game! You picked a fun AT(most fun IMO) to play.

Oh, something I should have mentioned in the earlier post,

The attack Chain you'll be aiming for is Smite - SL -Smite - MG.
(with Soul Drain thrown in where possible)

You won't have enough Recharge for it early on though, that's why you want Shadow Punch, to fill the gap.
It's also why Shadow Punch becomes skippable later in the build.

And yes, Shields is Expensive, very much so, learn to play the market, my best advice for that is pick one character and use them to get the "Field Crafter" Accolade, you should learn everything you need to know about the market and crafting while trying to get the accolade.
(ie don't grind it, but work at it sensibly)

I am pretty bad with %'s in this game, not sure how much is the right amount and waht not. Could some list the actual recharge times for Smite, SL, and MG? Like in seconds, for the Smite, SL, Smite, MG attack chain? Thanks.

AdjustedCastTime = (ROUNDUP( Casttime / 0.132)+1) * 0.132

smite=1.188
SL=2.112
MG=2.244

MG need to recharge in 4.488
SL need to recharge in 4.62
Smite need to recharge in 2.112

((base recharge)/(required recharge)) - 1

Smite: 6/2.112-1=184%
SL:10/4.62-1=116%
MG: 15/4.488-1=234%

I think my brain just broke....yep, definitely dripping out my ear now. Thanks for the numbers, when I get back from the hospital I can look at making a build.

Figure 70% from hasten, 96% from enhancments if that for MG, means you need almost 70% recharge from bonuses alone to do this. And only works when hasten is up.

For smite we're talking about 20% bonuses, while hasten is running.

But, don't forget, that you'll also want to be going for +defense bonuses. SO for things like MG, smite, and why i still suggest shadow punch, (in addition to the likeliness that you'r not going to have, or IMO even be worth it OVERALL to do the smite,sl, mg combo) you'll be using a full set of things like mako's bite, and touch of death for thsoe 3.75% ranged/melee defense bonuses.

[/ QUOTE ] Good call, Squez has a good guide for the field crafter accolade and Paragon Wiki also has a good article on Gaining the Field Crafter Badge.
