A little hard to see because of the black in the suit on the dark background.
I like the bright shade of blue with the black, nice contrast. Very sleek, clean, simply, excellent silver age design, IMO.
I'm a big fan of "third colors". Basically I'll take a suit like your's, using two colors throughout, take one item and give it a random color.
Try coloring either the belt or the jewel a different color of your choosing and I think this costume could really stand out.
I always thought that Invincible's new look is rather modern with it's dark blue and black. Invincible's original costume was iconic and awesome with black and gold splashed with a little blue. I wouldn't say it was a Golden Age look though/it's way more stylized and sleek. The Golden Age characters had brighter costumes with alot of red, blue, and gold. Even Batman's costume was a very light grey and bright blue.
Overall, the design's pretty clean, but I think another color would work well as LightSlinger mentioned. Or adding a costume piece that would be a sort of trademark.

Not white. Silver, one of the middle greys. And then, you might change the trim around the shoulder detail to that same grey. It would give a little more definition to the guy, instead of just black across him.

Maybe also use that same color on the mask. Right now it's just a big black block. Classic for sure but maybe needs... something.

Reversing the color scheme is MUCH nicer, I think. Enough trim to break it up, very nice.

one thing I was thinking of changing
was changing the boots and gloves to tight instead of shiny leather and adding full glove pattern (to make it look like metal bracers)
