Best Farming Duo?
I'm not sure about Heroside. Villainside it depends on Mission Architect or non-MA. Non-MA SS/Fire + Fire/Kin with unlimited budget builds are pretty far and away at the top of the class. I think they pretty easily outshine any heroside duo as well. In MA, two Fire/Psy Dominators doing maps full of Fake Nemesis takes the cake. The current proposition of Dominator changes would change little.
I think a sonic/kin corr would be a much better choice for a partner than anything else...maybe sonic/sonic?
Howl isn't enough AoE. Fire Ball and Rain of Fire allow a Corruptor to do as much damage as a Brute. Fulcrum Shift simply is too good to pass up. If I was adding a 3rd to the team I'd likely add a Sonic or another Brute. Though I've never compared running with a 3rd.
Heroside, I would guess a Fire/Kin running with an Arch/MM would probably be tough to beat.

I had alot of luck with a fire/kin and a spines/dark in the past. Been awhile since I tried duo farming though. If you have a good emp defender or a good FF defender, just about any other toon can be turned into a farm toon.

Fire/Kin controller and a Spines/Fire scrapper would do pretty good heroside.
My wife has a Plant/Kin controller that I'm looking forward to pairing with my Spines/Fire. It won't be QUITE the same output as a Fire/Kin, but should be pretty close.
Villainside I'm going to defer to those who know better than I.

A key concept to remember here is "synergy". Synergy means "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts." I'll make up some numbers and create an example to demonstrate synergy and "not synergy".
Let's say a Fire/Kin Controller gives 100 miles per hour worth of levels when played solo. Two Fire/Kins going 2 different ways go 200 MPH (we'll ignore team size etc. etc.). That's not synergy. That's the total being equal to the sum of the parts.
Now take those two Fire/Kins and have them work together in the same direction. If they go 200MPH or slower it is not synergy. If they go greater than 200MPH than there is synergy.
I know, from experience and nerdy statistical testing, that SS/Fire Brute + Fire/Kin Corruptor is synergistic. My nerdy numbers have Fire/Psy Dominator doing 117 MPH solo, an SS/Fire Brute doing 115, and my Corruptor doing maybe 70. The Brute and the Corruptor working together do not do 115 + 70 = 185, however. Working together these two go about 250 MPH. Synergy is involved. Fulcrum Shift let's the Brute do vastly more damage. The Brute going in first and soaking in the fire allows the Corruptor to fire with reckless abandon. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Synergy.
I haven't done tests nor taken numbers on any other duos. Do you think some of these duos are truly synergistic? Will the duos you suggested be superior to two Fire/Kins going two different ways? According to all the numbers I've taken yes, a Fire/Kin Cor and a SS/Fire Brute will go faster than any two archetypes on either side going two different ways, including Fire/Kin controllers.
Electric Melee / Shield Defense Brute with a Rad / Kin Corruptor.
Lightning Rod / Shield Charge + Thunderstrike + Ball Lightning on 250% recharge.
Increased Density for +30% smashing Defense makes the brute unkillable with 32+ mobs.
3 AoE attacks on the corruptor with -def and 3 achilles procs makes bosses very squishy.
Dual boxing this setup I farm 1500 tickets in 6 minutes on each account.

This is a theoretical exercise. I am wondering, if cost was little object in designing builds, what would make the best hero and villainside farming duo. For this exercise, let's look at Boss only MA farms.
I'm thinking heroside, it'd be something along the lines of:
Fire/Fire/Force Blaster + Emp/Dark/Power Defender. With some global recharge on the Emp/ you'd be looking at +100% Recharge, soft capped defense, +60% to hit, capped recovery and regen. They'd use their TT to immob the mobs once they get clumped on the blaster. The blaster would be running Hot Feet, Blazing Aura and dropping Burn patches, nuking without worrying about a crash, and throwing all the AoE goodness a Fire/Fire has access to. With Tough/Temp Invul, and the soft capped defense from the Emp, the blaster would tank S/L bosses without a sweat.
I'm not sure what would work the best villain side. I'd probably have to say the old standby of SS/FA and Fire/Kin would probably win the day, but with the Dom buffs on the horizon, that might not be true for long.
