Suppression of travel powers

I'm cross-posting this from the dominator forum where I spend most of my time.

I've been playing a long while now but the suppression of travel powers and their effect on endurance is something I never really considered.

When the travel power is suppressed and I lose the benefits of it, am I still spending the endurance to keep the buff active?

Let's say I'm speeding to the next spawn in an instance using super speed. I get there and, without turning off SS, I simply start my attack chain. Now, I know SS is then suppressed, and the icon still shows. When I leave combat, it kicks right back in and I'm super speeding again to the next spawn.

So again, am I spending endurance for the convenience of not having to deactivate/reactivate the buff? If so, does anyone have any tips or tricks for this?

Yes, you are still spending the full endurance cost of the power, despite it being suppressed.

Just remember to turn it off. Unless you always run with a Kin Corrupter that has SB slotted for end mod, then it probably doesn't matter.

Well, this is the right forum for travel power posts.

The bad news is that while the power is on, it eats endurance even when it is suppressed. A few people have said that already.

The good news is that none of the travel powers actually have any real recharge time or activation time. So you can turn it off for combat without worrying about waiting to turn it on again after combat. There are some interesting binds you can use to do just that. For example:

/bind w "+forward$$powexecname Sprint"

Usually w is just +forward by default. But what this will do is to activate Sprint and move forward when you press w, and deactivate Sprint and stop moving forward when you release w. Replace Sprint with the travel power of your choice and it works perfectly, usually. The power might reverse its setting if you get de-toggled while moving, but that is easy to fix by manually turning the power off (or on).

I just have the travel power hotkeyed so I can turn it on and off with a single tap. It's become habit to toggle it off when I enter combat and turn it back on after.

For Super Jumpers I have a macro that switches between Combat Jumping and Super Jump with a single click.
