My laptop (1.3 GHz Celeron M Processor, 2GB of RAM, lame video chipset) runs this game fine (albeit a little slow).

My desktop is unplayable. I am talking not even being able to move in Atlas.

Someone please help =\

Is it possible that your desktop video (Card name: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family) just happens to be even lamer than the laptop video?

That's the only thing I can see. Your CPU, RAM and hard drives certainly seem fine. Any integrated chipset is really REALLY bad news for this game.

I checked that. The desktop chipset is actually considerably better than the one in my laptop. Do you think it could be Vista? Or a driver? I don't know...I just hate that I spent $15 to play a game that I can't really play. =\

Will do once I am back on the desktop.

Update: I downloaded the client to my laptop and set the game settings even higher than the desktop, and am also on a wireless connection. Runs fine. Still crap on desktop. Will post CohHelper stats later.

Your graphics driver is a year old and you have too much stuff running in the background. You would do well to save your data, reformat your drive, reinstall Windows and your programs keeping an eye on the HijackThis reports to keep track of which programs are aggressively installing themselves in the start-up registries.

Intel graphics cards are not so good for this game. They can work, but you wont get much out of them. You may want to look into getting something better for your system

Also, what the above posters said. You need to clean up your startup, because that chipset uses shared memory, and every bit of memory you free up by NOT running something you don't actually USE means more for the display.

I would recommend, since it's a desktop, to find/purchase a suitable graphics card for the machine, preferably an ATI or nVidia mid-to-high-end graphics chipset. Intel chipsets are mainly engineered for multimedia (DVD playback, etc) and don't do 3D gaming well at all.

If it's PCI-Express, then you have the pick of the litter, pretty much.

AGP? well it might be tricky finding a card that will work and not break your budget, as this format has for the most part fallen by the wayside.
