I got a sweet laptop with 4 gigs of ram and a dual core processor for like $699. If you have a microcenter near you look them up. www.microcenter.com
If you want check www.newegg.com they sell them on that site as well as having reviews on pretty much all models. So when you do find one you like, look it up on there to get some good opinions on it.

Runs CoH on max settings with no issue. 4GB RAM, 1GB Dedicated Graphics (nVidia 9650 GT). Can run Fallout 3 on High Graphics so its a decent little rig and falls under 1k
Current laptop I play on is this one . Has served me well over these past few months.. I upgraded the processor to a T9300 not so long ago.
