I think too many people get too caught up in the pet aspect of controllers. Mind is a great set...a bit on the clicky side, but great. What about /kin? I'm currently running a plant/kin (42) and its been fun and my second trip with /kin on trollers.
I don't think you can go wrong with Mind or Earth and /therm or /emp. Both will allow so much mitigation that the emp will be mainly for buffing and topping off the hps in between most spawns.
Hmmm, now I kind of want a /emp troller. Curse you for tickling my altoholic bone!

/Therm is HUGELY useful on a team. It's sort of a 'Greatest Hits" set, with shields, heals, buffs and debuffs, but you gotta be on the ball for it to be effective.

Personally, I much prefer Earth over Mind. It just seems to have much better AoE controls. Earth/Therm will give your graphics card a nervous breakdown, but it should be powerful.

I've been looking at rolling a combo up that would be more useful on teams, especially later game TFs. The catch is, I'd like to use some powersets I haven't yet. My 50 trollers are in my sig, and with that being said, I'm thinking something like Earth or Mind, and Emp or Therm. I do have a 34 Earth/Sonic, so I am leaning towards Mind a little more, but have always found the lack of pet a little disheartening.
Please share your thoughts and opinions to help sway my decision one way or another. Thanks in advance.
I'm also open to any other combo suggestions as well.
