Yeah, I had to quit three separate AE teams last night because they were all running Freakshow farms. Sigh.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Hehehe Been there Lived through that! I had just the opposite experience doing Manticore TF yesterday afternoon. Team started forming, mostly a pick up group, and we got to 7 players with one more on the way (was finishing up a solo radio mission). Now this guy was friends with the leader so no way we were starting without him but the Tank asked several times "When are we going to start this thing?" Now maybe a total of 5 minutes passed before the guy finished his mission, accepted the invite, and was in Brickstown but before that occurred the Tank quit. I guess five minutes was just TOO long a wait to endure. LOL

We replaced him with a Blaster and took off on mission one. It was one of the fastest and best run TFs I have been on in quite a while. We had fun joking and chatting as we went and we just out classed anything the Countess and her pool boy Hopkins could throw at us. We clocked in at under 2 hours without stealth and just honestly had a blast doing it. Really wish I could recall that tank's name so I could send him an email and let him know what he missed.

Tank? We don neeeed no Tank LOL

Sorry, Wendy, but I'm kinda with the tank on this one. Oh, I probably would have waited the five minutes, I know things don't always come together quickly. But if everyone is just standing around gabbing, and I don't know why we aren't doing anything or how long we won't be doing it, well, yeah, I'm going to get ansy. And if I'm not getting any replied about our ETA to getting in gear, well, I'm not going to waste a heck of a lot of time just hoping that someone wakes up or something.

The tank sounded like he was on a pretty short timer. But if standing around waiting for five minutes was making the game unenjoyable for him, he had every right to walk.

Yeah Tealeaf BUT all that had been explained to him. his departure left everyone going HUH? I have played on PUG teams doing radio missions that took longer to form up with out players quitting because it was taking too long. Oh and keep in mind this was an early afternoon TF 1PM Eastern time which meant it wasn't even lunch time yet on the west coast. Now let's get serious here at that time on a Wednesday and this guy thought a 5 minute wait for someone was too long to stand around? No he was a nut case IMO I have seen it take longer to form a TF in the evening on a weekend than we took and the Tank wasn't even one of the first to join .. in fact he was # 7 of 7 at the time so he'd had the shortest wait of anyone. Does that change your opinion? LOL

Were you really Laughing Out Loud as you typed that out? Sorry to derail, but I always wonder about people who use that expression. Are they really sitting there reading and typing and laughing? Or do they just want to give the impression that they are? I understand, of course, that you can't reasonably be called upon to answer for everyone that uses those letters, but I'd love to have one solid data point.

Anyways, back to the discussion. As I wrote, it sounds like he had a short fuse. And yes, if I just join a team I will usually wait at least five minutes before I ask what's going on to find out if anything will be going on any time soon. And if this guy plays the game for any length of time, he will also learn some patience or get good at soloing.

But my point still stands. If the team is standing around doing nothing longer than any particular player can stand, then that player is better off quiting and doing whatever else instead. Having different tolerances than other people doesn't mean the person is necessarily a nutcase. He could have been a young kid, a newb who is used to playing twitch games, or heck, just someone with no tolerance for standing around. Different strokes and all that.
