Going Rogue

Situations where my damage is capped on my scrapper are few and far between. If I had to pull a random number out of my [censored], I'd say it's far less than 1% of the time I spend teaming.

I've never seen the damage cap on my brutes, except when I was popping a bunch of reds ; and I've got a SS brute, which can doublestack Rage for +160% damage.

I plan one taking a Scrapper redside when Going Rogue goes live. I really don't play blueside, at all really.

for those worried about the fury bar...wouldn't the fact that you would be able to team with defenders, who would have an easier time capping your damage mean that the fury bar would be less useful blue side. Just curious I've been gone for a long time but I thought Brutes damage cap was higher than scrappers...thus defenders and brutes would bring a higher chance for constant damage.

See Billzbubba's threads on the subject, but basically they have a higher cap by a lower modifier. On average, the damage is debateably equal. Having a defender buff you to tanker level caps would making chasing fury easier, but that's still chasing fury.

I played brutes during Cov beta and enjoyed them, but I just don't like playing CoV.

I actually plan to try out all of the Villain AT's blueside, mainly because I don't like the villain zones and such. I much prefer the hero version of the game, for some reason. Maybe it's just because I've played it longer, so I'm more familiar with it.

I am curious how differently this would play out in the brute forums lol

When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....
I am always too busy looking for the inevitable punchline...

With the advent of switching sides will you find yourself making a brute over a scrapper?

Actually I'm thinking a Night Widow, Softcapped Scrapper Claws Fury with a ton of leadership powers, auras and team buffs.

Instead of being the lonewolf who's busy clearing the other side of the map I can be a functional member of the team with more to other than just huge damage and occasional Tank subbing (not that there anything wrong with that)

For me it's about 80%. When you've got on average +300% damage from your own buffs it doesn't take that much from teammates to cap it and kinetics aren't exactly rare. The downside I'm seeing for making a DM/SD team scrapper.

It depends of the powersets.

Same here. Running down the list...

Broadsword - Enjoy it, currently only available on Scrappers. My BS/WP is safe. Also he's already 50, so I'm unlikely to screw with him.

Katana - Fun, but I enjoy it more on my Nin/Nin Stalker. My Kat/SR Scrapper is likely going to be deleted, and my Nin/Nin renamed, recostumed and moved to Paragon.

Spines, Martial Arts, Fiery Melee, Shield, Fiery Aura, Invulnerability - Never been able to get into them, on any AT. Well, ok, I like Thorny Assault. But that's so much prettier than Spines anyway...

Claws and Regeneration - I prefer it on Scrappers over Stalkers, so my Claws/Regen is safe. If Brutes ever get 'em though...

Dark Melee and Dark Armor - I actually prefer the former on Brutes (great for Fury) and the latter on Scrappers (where I can stop and breath occasionally without my offense plummeting), but I'm incapable of playing one without the other. I'm a slave to consistent concepts, I guess. My Dark/Dark Scrapper is my oldest character anyway, so he's safe from being screwed with mostly out of sentimentality.

Willpower - Like I said, my BS/WP Scrapper is safe. It's my WP/Axe Tanker who's going to get moved, since I think he'd work so much better as a Brute. If Axe were available for Scrappers, it'd be an even match.

But honestly, this is all just talk. The moment I can ship a new Elec/Elec Brute to Paragon, between it and my existing one in the Isles I'll probably never play anything else again.

Much rather have stone melee on a scrapper, but this may have to pacify me for a while..., so at least one brute.

fury is a love/hate relationship. solo? love it. teamed with a dom or people who love to knockback (read: plethora of storm mm's who dont realize it's the worst thing they could have given to that particular at) hate it.

red side has the best laid out zones though. far FAR less walking around than blue side.

and scrappers get stone melee when brutes get katana and broadsword with parry and divine avalanche intact imo.

Me, depends on the character. Slimy Sam (my dark/dark scrapper) will likely stay good. He's a hero from the 50's who the Circle of Thorns accidentally resurrected with a ritual. For Madam Enigma though? Well she's just barely a hero in my mind, so I'll make choices based on her personalty and let the chips fall where they will.

Stone Melee should stay with BRutes/Tanks. >.>
